I would think .223 would kill ya just as dead as 7.62x39ijump said:Before debating a suject like this you need to understand that carrying guns and ammo for days in rough terrain and condition is much different than going from the range parking lot to the firing point. Then you need to understand the user's perspective. When shooting at mobile targets from a not ideal firing position, all you do is try to get the ennemies to keep their heads down while other freindly troops are moving in to get the objective. The process make you spend 1000's or rds on the general target area just to keep their head down. For doing the job back when we used the FN 7.62 and also since we've switched to the 5.56. I would'nt go back
