NEW! NEW! GSG-16 Non-Restricted NEW! NEW! Official Canadian Importer

This was my last pre order....

You’ve seen the light. I walked into a retailer on Thursday and bought my gsg16 off the shelf. Did the same when the Tikka T1X came to town, bought that in store while people were still complaining about not receiving theirs. There is usually no need to preorder firearms.

Not unless it’s really limited quantities/availability. But yeah.

All preorders pretty much go like this.

It’s funny to read all the mad people though. I don’t mean to make you guys more mad, but what’s you expect to be different this time over all the other ones before this one??

This was my first and last preorder as well. I paid my deposit at the start of August and paid the remainder to bullseye over a week and a half ago only to find that they were still waiting on the shipment. And here I am sitting and waiting for a fully paid rifle I could have just bought locally for less money!! Several of the big box stores have them cheaper and in stock.

I am in the exact same boat.

Same here, even my last pre order was decent but this one is bad, some people still waiting and they ordered second day available on August 02 ?? Wtf!!!

I wish I had option of buying local for less. I know there are alot of stuff I'm not doing again.. I ordered Aug 3, and I might get my gun Thursday. Then again I bought a barrel in June and still waiting.

I saw one last Friday from a dealer, the rifle looks good. I just have few concerns on the material used. I notice the barrel face where the ammo goes in is shrouded by a zinc or aluminum material. And the barrel itself is very thin in this area where the extractor enters to remove a casing after every shot. This might not be a concern after all. Even the GSG 1911's barrel is not 100% steel to save on weight. It is also shrouded by aluminum or zinc, specially the lug that is held down to the frame by slide stop, a pin and a small screw. Also, correct me if I am wrong, the entire GSG 16 barrel is aluminum/zinc shrouded as viewed from the front of barrel. I am pretty sure that this set-up has been thousands of rounds, I might still be hesitant to jump into the bandwagon. Don't get me wrong, Blueline has the best after-sales support in the market. With my GSG 1911 experience, I would not hesitate to go for another product imported by Blueline. The only reason I parted with my GSG 1911 is my cousin wanted a pistol for his son to start with as they have been using it for weeks as my guest in our club. They were comfortable with what I have plus extra parts supplied by Blueline. Now going back to GSG 16, can new owners chime in their experience with this new toy? Range reports, common issues, ammo compatibility and overall build quality.

I got my gsg16 on Friday. I cleaned and lubed it and installed and configured the adjustable trigger screw. The Trigger isn't the greatest, it has what I feel is a lot of take up and the trigger is a bit mushy, the reset is pretty good. I have about to 600 rounds through it from 3 range trips (I was a fun weekend.) and I had some magazine issues with one of the mags where the back of the mag was a bit tight and it caused some fail to feed issues. But by Sunday it seems to have self clearanced. Its right now sitting in my safe begging for a cleaning (Which I am going to do this week). Its been super fun to mag dump. I can also confirm it can hit 12" by 12" paper at 100 yards (It might do better but I only had a 1-4 scope to use and there was some wind.) I am very happy with my purchase and been getting everyone I can to shoot it. I think I have mastered the HK slap. I am looking to collect a small collection of ammo to see which ammo it likes best and how accurate it really is.

got mine today
Took a week from Ontario to BC :-(

I was at the range today and put 450 Federal BYOB down range.
I would give it a 4/5. An awesome gun with just a few negative points.
The take down pins are a pain so I replaced them with MP5 push pins makes it so much easier to remove.
The fire control lever is tricky to operate without taking my hand off the pistol grip.
The iron sights are too low to get a good cheekweld so I put a cheep red dot on it. I also ordered a fixed stock that should allow for a better cheekweld as it is angled down a bit.
And finally the quad rail is a little bit uncomfortable but the rails come off quite easy which makes it better.
I magdumped the drum mag a couple of times with a few stopages but the stick mags were good.
All in all I think it is a great gun. Fun to shoot and pretty accurate at 50 yards.

Which pins did you buy?

I'd be interested in some of those MP5 push pins. Where'd you get them?

I bought my HK push pins from Wolverine. They are expensive for what they are. Still worth it. I did see some pins for half the price over at Hero Outdoors in Ontario. Just type MP5 in the web page search box, go through the pages and you’ll find them.

Just a FYI, they're a drop ship place. I placed an order on Sept 7th, my item didn't ship till the 27th. They don't let you know what is actually in store, or has to be ordered in.

would someone mind measuring the diameter of the HK push pin? i would like to swap the takedown pin on my mp40.
