I am sorry , but I still don't understand your point Glo7, a house is $450K - you need a place to house your family, you buy a house. You say you never will buy at that price- well fine - go and rent a place to house your family. If that is a good economic move for you while you wait for house prices to collapse to $50,000, then have at her.
Trouble is -- house prices go up and down but rarely go to extremely low values but for mining towns whose vein drys up.

M14s are a luxury item that if someone wants to buy - they buy. It makes no sense to have one anyways (especially to antigun folk). The price is what it is. It may rise , it may fall. Anyone who thinks their M14 is their retirement fund is a bit wierd. They are a rifle that will be used (or not) and eventaully languish in a corner, get modified, played with, broken, lost, nurtured or whatever------ it is a rifle.

If you want to pay $1500 for a stock for it -- go ahead! What the heck kind of economic sense does that make? It is fun --- why or why do people want to take a fun thing and turn it into some crusade for fairness and the lowest possible price ......

Here is a little secret....... some people do not care about what they spend on the things that they enjoy...maybe they can afford it , maybe they cant,... maybe they always wanted one since they were a kid. It is about choice and if a product sells at some inflated price - oh well.

Why drink a $250 bottle of single malt scotch when a good ole bottle of cc will do fine....boy that scotch is overpriced and I bet if I phone a manufacturer and buy it all up I can make money selling it also....

oh - I must be tired to argue this out.

Here we go with another expert opinion !!
"If a dealer wants to, they can bring in just about anything you can imagine. " How in hell did you arrive at this startling conclusion ??
As an example, certain items which are nor permitted to be exported from the US are being purchased and shipped illegaly into Canada, does that mean all of the dealers who choose to follow the law are wrong ??

"Lever ever got in to the Chinese M14 business, THAT would be interesting. " I beg to differ, when they were in the bbusiness as you ssay, M14s were $799.oo as a matter of fact until we got into the business $699. to $799. was the going rate....

GLO 7;
I like your style, " I'll be buying M14s for $150-$250 guys. Believe it. "
Ok at $150./each, I would assume US dollars, I will take 5,000 units first delivery, state terms of delivery and delivery date.
When can we meet to discuss a contract ??
John

It seems a lot of you guys won't mind buying $700-$800 M14s. Let the market decide the price. The market is full of suckers. $450,000 for an average house? I should pay that because market conditions dictate? The market is NEVER right. Prices will revert to mean only after wild speculation, aggressive interest rate hikes and gigantic losses by tom and joe sucker desperately trying to sell, sell, sell. Perhaps we are on the verge of a speculative bubble for the M14? In that light, I'd join Frontier at $639.95: money to be made there. I placed an email to Norinco for 100 rifles. No response. Perhaps I'll up that to 200 and see what happens. If you're a dealer, you're a fool not to get more stock where you can. Buy all of Bell's gear, money in the bank. Maybe the only way to get Norinco to reply is to put in an order much, much larger than Bell. So far, no reply. I'll be buying M14s for $150-$250 guys. Believe it.

I'm not sure what it's like in your "special" world, but you may want to try the real one out for a change........I highly doubt that we're all wrong and only you are right.

Let's get back on track here. Are these fiberglass stocks without the selector cut out? What type of quality/fit & finish are they? Are these the one's that Johnone told us about? You know the ones that he would import due to the fact that these rifles didn't meet Marstar standards's? Also has anyone see one of these? Are they 308 or 7.62 rifles? These are the types of questions we should be asking. Not a pissing match about what we think or don't think we should be paying. Just consider ourselves lucky that we can still import China firearms, unlike our brother's down south.

I've read the RCMPs list of prohibited items. I was referring to the AR mag sob stories and tactical stock sob stories SOME dealers post here. Fabsports got in the Tapco SKS stocks and God bless them for it. And if you are implying in your statement above that Fabarm is shipping items illegally in to Canada then your bitterness saddens me.

You're the expert JOHNONE.

M1 Carbines are legal in Canada. Where's the 18,000 surplus M1 carbines you have access to? "So I have 18,000 of them, you take 70% (12,600) and I keep the rest....
As a matter of fact I will give you exclusive for Canada I will not even compete with you....
Send me a note or give me a call we can discuss the deal
JOHN "

You have the website that says more than $399 is too much for an M14. "To make matters worse our competition charges $700.00 for the Norinco M-14S (aka. 'M-305') - three hundred dollars MORE per rifle"

http://www.marstar.ca/gf-norinco/M-14S.shtm

And I bought my Norinco 1911 from you because you were the lowest price. I bought my NP-22 from Lever (not a CGN dealer) because he was the cheapest. I bought a Glock from Armco because he was the cheapest.

It pays to shop around. Support the CGN dealers and buy from any dealer who offer the best prices and service.

Instead discussing what product which dealer should sell for why don't we start begging the dealer to bring in more 7.62 x 51 surplus ammo since zombies are quite hard to put down (saw on horror movie you gotto at least shoot them a few times before they stop trying to get up:D) so we can all stock up for any zombie invasion because to be honest with you I can't afford $800 a crate right now:bangHead:

Mag restrictions only help the zombies too. That's why Marstar needs to bring in more AIA mags that "may" ;) fit our ever-increasing-in-price M14s. And they need to be cheap too...... on account of the zombie problem and all.

You are bad...............................but I like it!:D:D:D

Do you "really" have $750,000 US dollars John? If not, can you borrow that much? You can try direct: sports@norinco.com.cn I too am interested in a larger, take it all, qty. purchase from Norinco.

All this aside, my vendor received a fax today from the 2 good old boys and it looks like I will have my three M14s with black synthetic stock for less than $519 (price to be determined upon arrival by week's end AFAIK) and based on qty. purchase!

(Glo7 shakes about and starts singin')

"Just two good old boys, never meanin' no harm...
Beats all you never saw, been in trouble with the law
Since the day they was born.
Straightenin' the curves, flattenin' the hills...
Someday the mountain might get 'em but the law never will.
Makin' their way, the only way they know how...
That's just a little bit more than the law will allow.
Just two good ol' boys, wouldn't change if they could,
Fightin' the system like two modern-day Robin Hoods..."

So all that to save $60 over a reputable dealer?

Yikes...

Do you always oversimplify things? Frankly, these price increases will mean more to more people than you probably know.

It's actually more than $110/unit and also means more when you are buying 3-5 pieces hence my REVULSION.

By the way, my original quote for synthetic stock new M14s for $465-$475 is from:

JAMES at...

CANADIAN TIRE RED DEER ALBERTA
2510 50 Avenue
Red Deer, AB T4R 1M3
######xx

He will have product beginning of August, but only 11 units. They won't ship mail order (no license) so if you're in Red Deer, enjoy! That should save you about $200 after tax per rifle.

How much do you think Canadian Tire is making on an M14 with a price at $475?

LOL...well, they're not giving them away free Mousier Gullible!!
