$639.95 OUCH!.

Nice work on Frontiers part for getting them in though, but looking at the "enlarged picture" I noticed two things...

1. The Camo is hideous
2. I didn't know they made left hand M14s :D

About time..:p

No. Did I make that apparent to you in particular? I don't see that coming out in my postings. Even if I "read between the lines," I don't read it coming out.
Then you really need to learn to read...

How did you come to this conclusion from a few forum postings? Nothing of which I spoke disparages any one on the board, unlike your post here.
Really

Indeed I would happily let you know. My postings were not directed at Frontier as I explained in an earlier post so maybe if you go back re-read my comments, that would help clarify.

Your posts have been directed at Frontier, Marstar and anybody else who sells at more then you figure they should

As for "putting up," I already did but Canadian Tire is likely going to be swamped for $475 rifle requests so I would only apologize for that as the capitalist slaves at the store working for $9 an hour are going to have to field 30 or 40 phone calls.
Actually you have not put up yet.. You said you'd be buying them at $200 please let us know when you have..

I don't know "John" and wouldn't make negative comments on a forum about a guy I don't know so I think you are carrying this a little far with your comments above.

John is the gentleman from Marstar... Who is trying to tell you your talking out of the wrong place on your body... He knows what it costs to get things out of china...

And negative comments... Pot Kettle Black...

Honestly I jsut erased what I said before, I'm tired of talking about this. I scares me to see how many Sheep there are who will pay more for something they know is not a value. If I ran my business like this I would be closed in months because after word of mouth got around I was charging people more simply to line my pockets instead of giving people a fair deal no one would shop in my store.

it goes back to something an old manager told me "people should expect and want to pay more cause they know they are supporting a local business."

he's now out of business

So since you are such an expert... What is the "VALUE" of a new M14????

Do you have any idea what the overhead to run a shop is? If you ran a business you would be out of business becuase you wouldn't be able to cover your expenses.. I wouldn't buy anything at your store since you seem to think people are sheep...

Here is a hint about value.. It's worth what someone (anyone) is willing to pay.. Not what you arbitrarily think it's worth...

Pop quiz... What's a M1A sell for? What is a Coonan B worth?

Are those the same questions??? for different guns...

What you are referring is an estimated wholesale price I gave a few posts ago. I am not surprised at this disbelief. Go into any Walmart store friend and THINK; everything there has a 100%-300% markup, even if it is priced at only a $1.12. Everything is like that from China friend. M14s are likely in the $250 range and sold in Canada for $499-$599. Not too complicated.

John owns Marstar. I don't know why he is participating except in regard to the comment I made about the mixed up communication between myself and his employee. No problem there. We worked it out.

And negative comments... Pot Kettle Black...

It would be better if you did not type.

perhaps all of the dealers on here can get the ammo to go with it in good quantities. Then I will buy at least one rifle from someone who has them. Otherwise ill be getting a ruger mini30 due to cheap ammo

I paid 700$ for my first M14 in '04.... And I'm still happy with it...

So I guess I'm a ''happy sucker''

then so be it !

Remember that Americans pay in the exess of 900$US for a USED Polytech !

$579 with the black synthetic stock? that doesn't sound like all that much to me. I paid $500 for mine used and I'm quite happy with it. any that ive seen on the EE has been around $500 as well. if that number is too high in your opinion then you're in luck... you don't have to buy one. wait and surf the EE and in a couple months, maybe you will find a cheaper one. I guess it depends how quick you want it in your hands. I know anything Ive ordered from frontier has shown up a.s.a.p. So to me, the extra $80 bucks for a new one at your door in 3 days, over a used one you wait for 6 months for, seems like a good trade off just to get the new one right away.

People thought I was nuts for paying $800.00 in 1994 for my Springfield M1A, so I guess I'm even a "happier sucker"

Yeah Seems like a waste of time with some like you...But sometimes you just have to stand up to the internet bullies or those that are full of hot air....

The more you type to more I wonder when your mommy is gonna come along and tell you to get off the computer... You have no clue who you are talking with and about... You have no concept of what is involved with what you are talking about.. Your business sense; well I'm not gonna bother...

You can speculate all you want.. BUT you made a statement that you were gonna get $200 rifles... let me know when you get them or is it all hot air?

I like your style, " I'll be buying M14s for $150-$250 guys. Believe it. "
Ok at $150./each, I would assume US dollars, I will take 5,000 units first delivery, state terms of delivery and delivery date.
When can we meet to discuss a contract ??
John

WOOHOO!

Commence "Marstar is getting more M-14s" rumour thread on my mark! 3, 2...

You can't win for losing....
We catch hell if we don't participate, we get reproached if we do....

Oh well, I'll make certain to ask your permission BEFORE answering any further questions....

And who said we did not have any socialists in Kanada....?
John

Business school 101...

You are trying to compare apples and oranges...

a tonne more complicated then you seem to understand. Your walmart numbers may well be accurate but don't apply to an order of Rifles from Norinco...

1) Walmart buys in bulk... They have multiple container loads coming from China. On a given day 250-400 Containers arrive in North America destined for Wal-mart..Ordered by walmart in the fall (pre-christmas) if can be as high as 800 a day for 2-3 weeks.

2)Wal mart designs and builds to order in china.. They have companies they all they do is prepare stuff for them....

3) the things walmart sells don't require the export and import controls that small arms do.. Walmart has a traffic office that all they do is control the shipments, imports etc...

So since Walmart controls the manufacture and buy transport, export and import

Your order from Norinco aint gonna qualify for this bulk pricing profile.. Your unit overhead to get it here will not be 25% it will be more like 100%.. And your speculation; Just becuase John managed to buy up a bunch of "old" parts at a bargain and get them made up into rifles does not mean that the new ones will cost the same...

As I said before you business acumen is somewhat suspect..

x2

Meow I'm no business major, but it would seem to me what works in Longueuil might not work in Prince Albert. Who knows how many employees Frontier has, how much the lease is on their building, the cost of their overhead. If they have to mark up their product more than someone elsewhere in the country to survive - so be it. If it's too rich for your blood then shop elsewhere. My two cents plus GST.
