Aw man, this thread is brilliant! I haven't been this entertained in a long time. It went from announcement, pricing accusations, how to run a business, capitalism and book writing. Keep going! This is so very delicious :p

I can't wait to see what today's episode will bring...everyone knows Friday episodes always end with a "cliff hanger"...maybe a murder...or an affair...or a shady person from the past will show up unexpected with some sort of juicy secret.

brb...going to make popcorn

Talking of m14s .
There has been a few of us posting about making kydex cheek risers for the m14.

Cool product. You make nice stuff (I have a nice 870 bayonet mount from you). Unfortunately your cheek riser post may be off topic now. This thread stopped being about M14s and became a soap opera around post #5.

:D

You are if the price of fuel has gone up and yields are low. Its called inflation and with Obama printing money like its toilet paper anyone who purchases in U.S dollars will be get less now then they could 6 months ago. One thing you may want to consider is that the rifles you were buying 6 months ago may have been part of a lot whose price was negotiated years ago. Past pricing means nothing, if i called the electricity company to complain that my equal billing amount has gone up $30 a month each yearly cycle they would laugh at me and call me a moron who needs to take a basic economics course.......................

its probably best if you dont talk anymore, every time you post everyone in the thread drops an iq point.

LOL another awesome quote. Lets see our dollar is worth more now than 6 months ago OH and WE KNOW WHAT THE WHOLESALE PRICE IS. Jesus it's like talking to walls.

Just came from Milarm, I guess they have the same M14s just in the door for $419.00 plus Tax. They mentioned something about surplus ammo too. Ask for Gord, he seems like a pretty good guy to deal with.

I have a hard time believing that Milarm is actally going to sell an M-14 for 419.00.
I despise Milarm!!!!!!!!

BTW -- gasoline is not an essential product. To regulate the sale of gasoline (which has been tried in several jurisdictions with the end result being no gasoline available for sale) is simply wrong.

The consumer has a good control on the price of gasoline by the purchase of it. Again, as has been said a thousand times in this thread - you dont want to pay the price, then dont buy it.

Next we will be asking the government to regulate the price of M-14s! Better set up a Parlimentary Committee to investigate and report to CBC.

Price regulation of any kind is a very dangerous slope.

What A Thread!!!!

I love Kydex. I really do. I LOVE the margins here as a sheet measuring 48"x96" of .060 Kydex T Black P1 with a Haircell finish costs merely $85 before shipping out of our supplier in Surrey, BC. Fantastic opportunities to manufacture. I particular like that riser too: it's got style.

Two things to consider, the Marstar Norinco M-14 were produced from parts destined for the US market (US Importer markings are easy to spot on the receivers) and had been sitting around since 1989 (start of the US embargo on Chinese Arms Exports). The new Bell Imports are newly manufactured using Synthetic Stock, manufacturing cost are naturally much higher. Also they only come with a 5 round magazine, no spare magazines like the Marstar ones. Adding spare magazines to match the Marstar offering, will cost the retailer extra cash.

I don't have information about how many mags you (PS Militaria) are including with shipment of (M14SCAMO). But on Frontier's website it states their rifles ship with "1 x 5 Round short mag included" at their advertised price.

Price regulation of any kind is a very dangerous slope. What A Thread!!!!

This thread was not about price regulation. It started with Cynanide and Glo7 complaints about a certain dealer's M14 price point which turned out to be, as far as we know, one of the highest in Canada.

And then it ventured into a commentary about the Norinco wholesale price of an M14 and how to get them in so we too could enjoy a markup.

We discovered that prices are slightly increasing in Canada, but they are not increasing in China. I paid $530+ for 3 M14s, average price, black synthetic this week.

Then, we had a few agitated gun dealers poke in, which was a fun pi**ing match, but expected when you get a few Type A Personalities in one room, and particularly agitating for some when they have interests to protect. Understood, but there's always room for one more so move over.

So when is your riser coming to market? I expect you will be selling them at your cost, and not a penny more.

You seem to yap and yap about how you can do everything and make everything and source everything cheaper.... so why aren't you the largest seller of everything in Canada? It sounds like you'd be making a killing.

Is there anything you can't do?

It's not. All I said was I love Kydex.

No. I didn't say that either.

I am looking at 8, 22" monitors right now. I am always looking for opportunities in the marketplace, but no, I am not the largest reseller of everything, just a well-armed speculator with a better sense of pricing than you (in my opinion of course).

If you feel like spending $69.99 on the cheek riser + shipping, that is entirely your own prerogative and I will buy one too, but I make over $200 an hour some days when I am working, so I don't mind giving it away. I always tip the concierge $40 because I know he's making $15-$25 an hour and probably has kids. You can't raise a family on that with 30% taxes unless you work 12 hours days, like I used too. I enjoyed that, but I couldn't keep it going.

Is this where we're supposed to fawn all over you and bow down because you make 'sooo much money' and are a big tipper? What's the point again?

What exactly does that have to do with your lack of knowledge about retail business models?

If you're looking for ego stroking - keep looking.

This guy is one of the funniest pricks we have ever seen on here, savor the moment guys. He is trying to fuel an over inflated ego, with bull#### about a office in the sky, ware he has every manufactor of firearms on speed dial. I was able to use my conections and was able to get a picture of Mr Glow and the location of his money.
