Hi all

I expect to have my PAL soon, coming from the UK where firearms are a LOT more expensive I've found myself in the position of being able to "collect" as such.

I was wondering if yourselves could point me toward some different vendors of SKSs other than the usual Chinese and Russian SKSs? I'm looking to buy about 5 to start with because freedom.

Russian
Chinese
Yugo
Chinese {Chrome} Guard
49' Russian
Bonus: Bubba's SKS

There's a decent start list..all available here, just keep an eye {EE/Vendors} or use the Search function. Cheers .. ~

Thanks Johnny I appreciate it, I was looking more for vendors (I don't have access to EE yet and thought shops might be a little more reliable in supply) as the vast majority I have found online cover the Russians and Chinese only, the Chrome ones are interesting however I must profess ignorance of the 49 Russian variant.

Bubba's bonus for me comes in the form of a back massage, he can keep the gat.

if you buy from EE you arent on a list.... just saying...

In Calgary I think Calgary Shooting Center had some last time I was in. The Canadian Tire at McLeod and Southland has a good gun department but they might have dropped the milsurp stuff.

Tradex is a great place to deal with. I don't really follow SKS's much but that's where I would start looking.

Another vote for Trade Ex, it is a great place to buy plus... They still have some Yugo SKS in stock.

Good shout! I'll definitely check out the calgary shooting centre as I can pop in there easily. Trade Ex looks good too!

Chinese versions last time I was there. They looked OK though. Tenda has various Russian types but the "super" grade are expensive. The biggest problems with SKSs is that the supply is nearing the bottom of the barrel so most available are bottom tier.

That sucks, I would be curious about getting one re-barrelled with a newly made barrel just to see how it performs.

Ok so an sks is like 200 bucks
rebarelling an sks will be like 500 bucks

why?

Hey it's your money, but still... why?

Thats like putting in a new engine on a 2004 chevy cavalier because you expect better performance...
