A good .22 would be a Ruger MKIII or 22/45. If you're in the market for a 1911 check out SAM 1911's (Shooters Arms Manufacturing) as they have plenty of different styles in both 9mm and .45. Only thing to note is that SAM's are built tight rather than loose so you may need to do light polishing work to get it how you like. I have a SAM Stainless 9mm and a SAM Thunderbolt .45 and love them both.
