How does this upper handguard fit tight? Is that dependant on how tight the original upper metal fits or is the new one designed to sit on top of the new lower tight? Can pics of this be had?

I don't know if you got an answer to this question or if you still care but the answer is:

It fits tight because the upper handguard has three little nobs on each side that go into three respective holes on the lower handguard and once they mate, it's like one unit. There is also no space between the upper and the lower hand guard and the require a little pressure to assemble.

The end product is a solid assembly that doesn't move in any direction.

I love mine.

I agree X-man the FAB unit about as solid as any other UHG mount.
