New Product Alert: Ruger PC Carbine barrels

We've had a few emails today asking about timelines, so I want to clarify a little bit. We are ordering the barrel blanks as needed, but we can't seem to get enough raw blanks to keep up. As such previous estimates of timelines were 10-12 weeks from when an ordered was placed, and going forward I'm having to extend that estimate to 12-16 weeks from the time of orders being placed.

What can you tell us about barrel and forend integration with Ruger factory stocks? I’ve got the factory Ruger Mlok Handguard with the standard stock. Will your barrels and the shorty MI Tactical forends you are selling mate with the Ruger factory stocks without issue or modification? Will the same set up mate with the Magpul backpacker stock?

The short barrels won't fit in the factory handguard. The MI handguard will attach to an action, that is sitting in a factory ruger stock. The barrels and the handguard are both compatible with both parts of the magpul backpacker stocks, except in that the 7" barrel is shorter than I'd suggest using in the magpul backpacker forend. hence the MI forend. I got some pictures of the 10" barrel in the backpacker and the MI handguard, attached to the backpacker that I'll try to get to this afternoon. I've turned off accepting orders on the barrels for the time being until we can feel more comfortable in the supply chain to acquire both the small parts, and the barrel blanks.

As requested:

10.5" Barrel in MI handguard, and 10.5" barrel in the Magpul backpacker handguard.

Take my money. I think the MI hand guard will look sweet with the PC tactical carbine chassis. Let us know when we can order the complete package from you.

Some people like to have options. Options are not illegal.

Sorry officer, I missed your name and badge #? Or is it poly ... don't worry.. we don't do promo codes.

It’s a legitimate question. Are you ensuring everyone who buys one has a restricted license?

It’s this stuff that helps Poly, not us.

Why would they or any other dealer do this?
It is a non regulated part, if some sellers starts self regulating you don't think it will get picked up on and become yet another regulation.
It isn't up to retailers to police their customers, that is the job of law enforcement and the judicial system.

BTW, you have made matters worse by posting 'poly' and bringing it to their attention. They absolutely search the board for that term.

I’m not the one who brought up Poly.

I believe there is a problem when a product is sold that doesn’t even mention how it changes the classification of the firearm when installed.

I also think the “white socks and black socks” analogy is misleading to customers. There are very specific laws surrounding where restricted firearms can be possessed. The sock analogy is still instructing a crime in most cases.

The fact the FAQ breached forum rules should have been the red flag.

Yeah.

Maybe you should stop talking.

I'm sure you're the kind of person who thinks owning firearms is a "hobby".

Nope. I don’t want to see someone getting arrested for doing something they didn’t know was illegal.

that's what a pal/rpal course is for. your car dealer doesn't make you take a driving course or warn you not to drink and drive when you purchase. what you do is not the responsibility of others. nut up and take some ownership of your actions. the liberals are more than happy to build a nanny state and impose stupid rules on us when the majority are muppets that want someone else to think for us and tell us what is right and what is wrong. don't be a muppet.

You just highlighted the problem with our gun laws in a nut shell..... they don't make sense in many instances.

The law is pretty clear on this issue and is an example of it not making sense in both directions.... it's not up to Police officers or Gun owners or both to make laws and unfortunately we have to live with bad laws and good laws.

So you want a liberal nanny state that caters to your every need ? "You don't need to know the law we'll tell you what you can and can't do" it's that mindset that got us where we are. Take ownership for you action, be responsible for yourself and have agency.
