New Product Alert: Ruger PC Carbine barrels

Shaun, any way you guys can work a bridged optic mount in to your new handguard? Hopefully some of this BS doesn't go through but I'm assuming you guys are thinking also of the US market with this new product.

Good call, never seen that before. UTG has come along way in the last few years with some of their USA production.

I wonder if that would fit with the longer barrel.... looks short enough.

That does look pretty cool, BUT, our barrels are a fair bit thicker than the factory ruger barrel. I'm not so sure that will fit now that I'm looking closer.

I was more thinking design one to mount on your new hand guard.... :) Though I still think the easiest thing would be to profile a picatinny rail to match your barrel contour then thread the barrel and bolt it on. Most people have red dot's with picatinny clamps and it would avoid all the different footprints for micro red dots.

That was actually an 8" prototype. The seven is slightly shorter. It is meant to go with the Midwest Industries hand guards we have on order, but... once C21's amendment was announced, we decided not to wait for them to arrive.
I based my purchase of this pick because I like how it sticks out a bit passed the handguard. My order was for a 7 inch can I change to a 8 or what would a 7 inch look like with the Magpul backpacker fore end?

I imagine there are a lot more guys running the backpacker than the MidWest shorty, why not do an 8" instead of seven? I am sure an extra inch on the midwest would still look good.
Or maybe you want to offer three lengths?

How much thicker we talkin?
I am interested in dropping weight out front, shorter is gonna help with that but if your 10.5" weighs 80% what the original 18'5"er is that's not a huge drop.

Be interested to see how these shake out and hear back from the users have bought them. I think you guys are really onto something here!

As for NR barrels, a NR length barrel minus the iron sites has some appeal. You have the chance to shed some weight even if maintaining the same barrel profile.

Our much hinted at, short barrels for Ruger PC carbine takedowns are available to order now.

Expected to ship in 10-12 weeks. Each barrel is custom built, especially given the upcoming BS hanging over all of us.
The barrel price DOES include the takedown hardware but does not include a handguard/forend.

Fluted barrel?!

I thought you folks didnt like fluting?

Great new idea BTW, I wish you luck with it in the current climate.

On the handguard topic... for the 7", and the reason we chose 7" length... I present to you the Midwest Industries itsy bitsy handguard. Small numbers just arrived, well ahead of schedule for a change, and will be available shortly to order on our website.

And I didn't want to take shiny pictures of our prototype handguards we're working on, 1 for the longer barrel offering 10.5", and one for the short 7.5".

Whats the point if it makes it R. the whole benefit of increased portability is useless.

There are also a few disciplines using a PCC, making the short barrel a faster-handling platform for those who enjoy its reliability.

Fingers crossed this whole amendment gets reversed and we get to keep using them for that as well.

a lot of the political "analysts" (??) are speculating that with the bloc and ndp flipping on it, and requiring significantly more scrutiny it is likely delayed by 6-12 months. Expect we see an election before then. I hope a lot that it's true.
