New Production Auto Ordnance M1: thoughts?

Sorry for the necro-thread, but has anyone noticed these A-O guns are supposed to be dressed to represent an early-war carbine with flip sights, type 1 band, etc. yet the promo photos show it with a reproduction of the M2 potbelly low-wall stock? Seems strange.

Is that how they actually ship, or do they have a WW2 style stock when examined in-hand?

I have one and I have a couple of the kci 15 round mags as well and it is a lot of fun and pretty accurate I have installed a few usgi accessories, the metal handguard doesn't fit but it is a lot of fun you will love it and ammo isn't as hard to find as you may be led to believe not like some calibers floating about

Trade-Ex has the Sellier & Bellot 30 M1 ammo for $28.95 for 50 and ship for free on cases of 1000 (20 boxes). They also have the Auto Ordnance carbines for sale.

Wait for Marstar to replenish them, or try the EE. I have the marstar one here, and once you replace the handguard rivets, it looks pretty good and fits well enough. I also replaced the receiver heel hook on the stock with a USGI one, which also improved the fit.

Is the OAL kosher for a NR barreled carbine when it's folded? I've always wanted one but was unsure.
 
I checked out the TulAmmo people...

... and a tip of the lid to these Russkie cats!!

Ordered 2000 rds on Friday morning and delivered Monday afternoon. $10 flat rate for shipping.

Looks really good, nice and clean. Says: Steel Case / Non-Corrosive / Berdan Primed

It's 110 gr FMJ and 2000 rds to my door was $802.28 .... 40 cents a pull!!

( Now... about that new barrel I'm going to need by next week...)



 
All the A-O carbines ive come across have all had 18.6-19" barrels so all non restricted, but the price was something I was unwilling to pay, I did however find a very nice Iver Johnson on the EE the stamps has it being made in early 1985, and its is pretty much on par with a USGI rifle except the barrel which is 19" not a bad pick up for $450 replaced the awful looking metal hand guard with a nice wood one, I have has a few issues with it failing to feed the next round properly, a few replacement springs and a different mag, have been picked up and installed another range test on sunday to see how it all comes together

I was corresponding with Trigger last month and they dumped all the M1 carbines in Europe and only kept the Garands and Hi-Powers for Canada, citing no market interest in Canada. I told them I thought that was stupid considering they didn't even ask anyone here to gauge interest. In other words, except for maybe a very small handful, don't expect any carbines :(
 
This is the first I've heard about surplus M1 Carbines. I would have shown interest if I knew it would have been possible to get one.
 
Gents! The importer is a businessman...

Why import a bunch of Restricted rifles into a country that has a well documented history of being anti-firearm.

Sales would be dismal... and therefore un-profitable.

Re-barrel a bunch to 19" and they would sell like hotcakes... but then, they wouldn't be cheap anymore, and not original. Just a lose-lose situation.

Too bad, though... M1 carbines rock!
