New project - Can you guess?

AR-180 is prohibited by name. AR-180B made into Canada only because it was somewhat different gun and none of the major parts from AR-180 would work on it. Any more silly quetions on surplus parts?

PS. There is nothing wrong to build new gun based on 180B, like "modern hunter", but it should stay away from 180 as far as possible.

Silly question it is not.

M16 upper and most small parts are same/interchangeable.
Weren't the original armalite/sterling uppers usable on the NR gun?

Instead of duplicating the original 180B exactly part for part, how about a complete do-over?
Perhaps a 180C (Canadian) or 180D (Dominion) :)

First of all, would that need an all-new FRT (show stopper!), or could it be done with a "child number"?

New manufacturer, new make, or new model needs a new parent frt.

If those three things are the same but barrel length, or calibre changes then only a child addition is needed.

As canada ammo isn't armalite, it's a new frt parent entry.

My lord this would be down right amazing. A DA 180b? Reasonable price point? Could this really happen? It's late I must be sleeping.

I'm not sure if canam is still going forward with this, but I do hope so. I don't think I'm the only one who would buy an NR modular 223 rifle at a fair price. I'd like a MV, but not for 3000$. A lower-specced rifle for a lower price would make me open my wallet, and I'm fairly certain I'm not the only one.

The main reason I havent jumped into the AR-xx arena has been restricted status so if this rifle could be made NR and in 7.62x39, Im in for sure (of course it should not cost as much as a xcr ... otherwise ... well, you get the picture)
