New project

As far as I know, if the Mag is behind the trigger, it's a bullpup. If you are changing the trigger system then yes it it. If you are building the magazine to slide into the grip, the trigger would have to be located behind the mag. If it isn't, then it's a bullpup.

please show me where in the fa or cc it states this.

To the nay sayers. Have a look at the Browning Buckmark rifle. Pistol grip, mag through the pistol grip. Must be a bullpup. How 'bout the Tavor ?????????? Looks like a bullpup to me but LEGAL and NON RESTRICTED. Kel Tec Sub 2k, mag in the grip, and it folds up, HOLY COW BATMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is just a dress up kit just as the plastic do-dads some put on Ruger 10/22's. Seems that those who can't do shyte have to criticize. To the compliments, Thanks. The project is an exercise for the grey matter, needing to think and plan many steps ahead to make sure things function as they should. If Rob Ford can get away with doin' crack, I can dress up my gun to resemble an UZI.

You are simply building a bullpup rimfire which is illegal!!!! Silly thing is you are posting pics of it. You can't make you're own stock unless you have a licence. Companies can sell bubpups but they can not be fire when taken apart. ie tavor, and many others.
The laws state you can't put a gun in an aftermarket stock that is a bullpup design.

Here is the LAW
Prohibited devices
Replica firearms (i.e.: "any device that is designed or intended to exactly resemble, or to resemble with near precision, a firearm, and that itself is not a firearm, but does not include any such device that is designed or intended to exactly resemble, or to resemble with near precision, an antique firearm")
Suppressors (i.e.: "a device or contrivance designed or intended to muffle or stop the sound or report of a firearm")
Handgun barrels that are 105 millimetres (4.1 in) and under (excluding barrels of pistols used in international sporting competitions governed by the rules of the International Shooting Union)
Electrical or mechanical devices designed or adapted to render the trigger mechanism of a semi-automatic firearm to discharge in a fully automatic fashion
"Any rifle, shotgun or carbine stock of the type known as the “bull-pup” design, being a stock that, when combined with a firearm, reduces the overall length of the firearm such that a substantial part of the reloading action or the magazine-well is located behind the trigger of the firearm when it is held in the normal firing position."[23] (i.e.: only removable stocks are prohibited by this regulation, fixed-stock firearms such as the FN P90 and IMI Tavor are excluded)

Only removable stocks prohibited by this regulation, fixed stock firearms such as the FN P90 and IMI Tavor are excluded. Fixed stock, fixed problem. Maybe I done bad, I'll check it out with the Forensic lab here in town. Been there before.

wow, seems like you got this whole thing figured out then. i really don't mean to start a pissing match here, and i have NO CLUE where this build would legally stand...cool as f##k and i want one and yes i know our laws are confusing and retarded at the best of times. i don't think that any of the "nay sayers" here are jealous of the OP work (fine work btw), but is more concerned about the possibility that he could be making a prohibited device. now yes, there are A LOT of non restricted firearms where the magazine is in the pistol grip and the trigger is forward of the magazine (and you named a few) however keep in mind that these firearms were manufactured in the configuration they are in and were not modified that way...take our very strange "short barrel law" for instance. you can't chop one below 18" but you can buy a manufactured short barrel and install it and stay NR provided your OAL is 26" or greater...make sense? NOPE! my last point before i get off my little soap box here is do an internet search for "10/22 bullpup stock"...your right, you'll find just a dress up kit that many people are putting on their rugers, however all of them live in the states. yes even some of the dress up kits are prohibited up here and at the end of the day wouldn't you say that all the OP is doing (did i mention fine work) is "dressing up" a marlin 795 receiver? he hasn't milled a receiver of his own design and submitted it to the rcmp for classification and a kit is a kit...doesn't matter if it came from ATI's warehouse or your double car garage.

If we could have bullpup rifles, Center Balanced Systems make some cool stocks.
However any aftermarket stock in a NO NO! Even if it's home built!
Again, pull your post and pics!!!!

It sure looks like there is a trigger in front of the mag well/pistol grip. If he is going to mount the reciever so that the pistol grip is the magwell and that new trigger reaches back to the OE trigger to actuate it then it is by definition of the law a bullpup stock. More pics and info are needed to determine exactly where he is putting everything but right now it looks like a bullpup. The OP needs to settle down and realize people are trying to help him not call his work down. If he's too sensitive to handle that then he shouldn't be posting his work online.

X2, calm down guys he didn't move anything around... its still a marlin

Had a long chat with a couple of people in the business of firearms today. So far no problems encountered. Have a call into the CFO for clarification on the bullpup issue. No need to lawyer up yet
