My wife says that the pup looks like a "Dakota". I'm still mulling it over.

Sako was considered.
I waited almost a year to get my Tikka T3, so Tikka seems to work for her. It is official now.

I like 2 syllable names for dogs. We lost our beloved Kadie a 10 yr old lab pit cross last year. We recently ended up with a 1 yr old adoption case escape artist named Rosco (Queen charlotte Island dirt bag dog ) and a now 4 month old (shepherd/Akita) pup that we named Suki. Seems easy to call them at long distances with the simple 2 syllable names. Well, except Rosco he doesn't listen worth #### Gett'n better tho...

I would go with "Tikka".

It is a good, strong 2-syllable name (easy for the dog to learn and respond to) and it is one of your wife's suggestions (brownie points are always good).
