New Range Gun!! Sterling R18!!

You need a PT to 1913 rail converter which is only offered by one person at the moment, who only produces them in super small batches very rarely. I’m planning on putting a PT-4 on my R18

Nice, I’m thinking of going in this direction once I get my R18 as well. Where would you source the Zenitco sticks from? I haven’t found a Canadian retailer that sells them.

Hesitant to buy this. Why buy the Mk1 when the Mk2 is just around the corner and this tends to be a never-ending cycle with Canadian-specific MSR's. The way I read is it please buy this now inferior product so we can release an upgraded version for the same price.

And yes, I'm aware that you don't have the means of other well established manufacturers who can spend millions in R&D before rolling out something.

Sounds vaguely familiar to the new trend in the video game industry of paying to beta test products, at least there you get the updates for free. :stirthepot2:

What are you on about? they've been totally up front aboutbwhat runs have what features and the first batch with the pencil barrel is almost sold out. No one is on here begging for money.

if you go to the product page the first run even states that people who buy will get upgraded internals when they're available. "All rifles sold from this batch will receive a free upgraded internals kit in Febuary"

Read before you whine.

You must have missed the part about the change with the barrel profile, adjustable gas block and how the upper is being modified to put the stock more in line with the more but yeah, upgraded internals!

Fanboi more dude. Face it, some people are fine with paying to get a new thing early but you'll still end up with an inferior/less refined version.

The only thing stopping me from buying this is the barrel profile and the height of the stock. If the Mk3 comes out with a heavier profile barrel put me on the waiting list. An extra picatinny slot to raise the stock a bit would be a nice.

Both of those issues will be resolved on the Production R18 Mk2 Rifle, due out in Feb 22. Watch and shoot next month...

To summarize, here are the current and upcoming versions of the R18, as I have interpreted them based on info onn CGN. The firearm's sponsor, tester, and/or developers are welcome to correct any mis-interpretations.

R18 MK 2.0 - Pencil barrel and Non-adjustable gas block, with some upgraded parts to be sent later, currently being sold in limited numbers.

R18 MK 2.1 - Slightly thicker barrel for better semi-automatic accuracy, adjustable gas block, moving of Picatinny/1913 stock mounting point higher to be line in bore, other parts upgrades (other parts to be sent to 2.0 users on availability). To be sold starting on February 22.

R18 MK 3.0 - Quick detach handguard system. Ejection port cover ( primarily to satisfy requirements for use by Law Enforcement). Release date to be determined, likely many months away.

Again, kudos to the sponsor and developers for rapidly integrating improvements based on Bartok5's testing and the feedback from the forum on the stock versus optic rail height into the 2.1's production run!

Is this going to be sold as a stripped reciever set?

As it currently stands, the only Receiver Sets to be sold alone will be the T7075 Aluminum Sets sold as an upgrade for existing R18 rifles. Although all R18 parts will eventually be made available for purchase, the T7075 Receiver Sets are not intended as the basis for custom builds.

I think subsequent to my chats w Bartok5, the 7075T receiver will be build into full rifles to sell.

Receiver sets in general are not something we anticipate to sell immediately.
