Hello,

I just start reloading, and I can use some information's from the ones with more experience.
I would like some advices for reloading .308, powder, primer....

Regards

I don't load for 308, but there are lots of recipes out there. There are a few good powders that will do the job nicely which will depend on bullet weight. Primers are a personal preference thing...I like CCI
I would suggest that if you don't already have any reloading manuals, you should buy at least two and read them. You will gain some valuable knowledge....

Here is a link which may help...

what rifle are you loading for, what twist rate?
when first starting to reload I would focus more on the object of reloading and don't expect perfected accuracy on the first try.
use several manuals to compare data.
if it's your first time reloading ever than I wouldn't try to jump right to developing a load.
i would just practice on the reloading procedure itself, get used to it and comfortable sort of thing.

maybe start with loading your ammo on the lower end of the charge range but focus on your steps of reloading, consistency is key for accuracy(if that's what your are trying to achieve).
after you feel comfortable with the reloading process and maybe even developed some methodology than you can start to work up loads.
if your just punching paper at the range have a look at the 168 grain bullet area, compare ballistic coefficient of bullets in your manual, choose one and work it up.

most 308 shooters like varget as a powder but you will have to see what works best in your rifle.
if loading for accuracy consistency is key don't change more than one factor at a time.

keep it simple and stress free, reloading should be enjoyable and relaxing.
hope this info helps.

Thank you all.
I'm reloading for an Browning X-Bolt, 22' barrel, used for all around hunting (deer, black bear, moose).
I would like to try reloading:
- Barnes 130 GR - Triple Shock X - Boat Tail
- Barnes 150 GR - Tipped Triple Shock X - Boat Tail
- Nosler 165 GR - Nosler Partition

Strongly suggest that your first step is to buy and read a book called ABCs of Reloading. It's one of the best introductions going and covers the principles, types of equipment, process, etc.

I already read that book and much more from internet and other books, but, in my opinion,
nothing is more valuable that hand on experience and advices from guys with this kind of expertise.

Work up a load using a 165 grain hunting bullet(Noslers are premium bullets. You don't need premium bullets) and IMR 4064. A 165 will kill any game you care to hunt and the .308 loves IMR4064. The primer isn't terribly important for a hunting load, but use the same brand every time. And follow your manual(think Lyman) religiously. Buy the ABC's of Reloading and read the whole thing too.
Barnes bullets require Barnes data. They're also premium bullets. No need for a solid copper bullet.

ive done he ftx 165 gr as well as 170gr flat nose for my 308 go on line and read up on it im a newby myself so take your time and pay attention for what you are doing and you will enjoy it . hound13

I loaded my dad's Moose bullet this fall and it did a fantastic job. The recipe is in the latest Nosler manual but the components used were:

165gr Nosler Partition
Lapua Case
Varget
Federal 210M Primer

Loaded on a Bonanza Co-Ax press with a Forster seating die.
