New rifles with spare bolts and mags?

A word to the wise. If you are storing guns for a friend or relative - take a picture of the gun time stamped before you give or mail it back with the bolt and magazine clearly in the rifle.

If you don't do this and upon receipt of their rifles, they do separate the mag or bolt from the rifle, hide it, forget they hid it - then accuse you of mailing them their rifles without magazines or bolts.

This has caused a great deal of grief for me, courtesy of my senile old uncle when he moved to the coast years ago. I ended up having to source a pile of mags from Numrich Gun parts because he accused me of sending them without the mags.

Tell him to buy his own effing mags and look after his own d*mn rifles... you need better friends... the relatives you can't do much about except have better boundaries.

I love people that store rifles without the bolts, then move and forget to bring them with, or forget where they hid them a few years ago.

Those rifles are usually sold for 25 cents on the dollar or sometimes just given away. Especially "old" 303 Lee Enfields of every type and mark, usually, but not always sporterized.

Remington bolts were quite easy to to pick up until recently, others, are still available, especially for later types/marks of Lee Enfields and Mausers.

Some of those people even had the rifles in heavy gauge steel safes, but for some reason, known only to them, they decided it wasn't secure enough.

NEVER STORE YOUR RIFLES WITHOUT THEIR BOLTS. If you do, and lose those bolts, PM me, I'll likely give you 25 cents or less on the dollar, including shipping of course.

Don't eat laundry pods. If we have to supply extra bolts... the same people who need this... also need stupid warnings that the rest don't.

Pretty much, why would I want to pay extra for a bolt because someone else is too clueless to be able to keep track of their bolt? And if they lose one, they can just as easily lose two.
