New Ruger precision rifle.

It's not meant to be shot off of a bench, it's meant to be an entry level PRS gun. That is the market they are targeting. A 2 lb. trigger is ideal for practical shooting.

Ordered one today from Wanstalls in 6.5CM. $1500. ETA approx 4 weeks. As always, great service from Wanstalls (thanks Gary!!!). They're so good to deal with.
Online reviews have been amazing. I like Ruger. Always have.

Is Hornady the only mfg thats selling the 6.5 ammo in Canada...checked a few sources quickly online and no one seems to have stock of it...was looking at ordering this rifle in 6.5 but wondered if the ammo is hard to come by?

Why do most prefer the 6.5 over the 308? After a Google session, the only negative thing I could find on the 6.5 verses .308 , was barrel life. 6.5 has 50% less barrel life than the .308? Anyway not an issue for me as I'll put only a few hundred rnds a yr through it.

You also forgot "When I do my part " He must shoot with Caramel. But as we know everyone on the internet shoots quarter moa groups

I was thinking about getting some T-shirts made up for this forum with a graphic of a bunch of tiny .25 MOA groups on the front and the words "I shoot 1/4 MOA groups all day long with factory ammo"

Then on the back a picture of a shotgun pattern group and the words "When I do my part"

I think they would sell like hot cakes!

Ordered mine today. :dancingbanana: Can only wait so long for Tikkas to come ashore. Good thing I waited this long as it looks like this product is well worth buying. Impressed with the mag interchangeable design. Always wondered why that took so long to happen.

First time ordering from Wanstalls. Good experience. Thanks Gary

6.5mm projectiles have superior ballistic coefficients to .308 projectiles making the 6.5 particularly well suited for longer range shooting. The common wisdom is that, as far as long range precision shooting goes, you get ballistic performance similar to a .300 Win Mag but with far less recoil and longer barrel life.

That is the first that I have heard that 6.5 CM has worse barrel life than .308. I had always heard that they were similar, but both way better than higher pressure cartridges and magnums. But I'm still learning so I may have misunderstood...
