New Ruger Sp101 22's For sale down south!

I, for one, am glad Ruger has chosen a half-lug barrel contour. Not every revolver needs to weigh 3lbs and be front heavy like a PPC gun. Also, keep in mind the intended purpose of a small-framed .22 revolver in those jurisdictions where handguns aren't solely limited to being shot at a range.

These revolvers are now being delivered to stores in the US. Does anyone know who the Canadian Distributer is or if any retailers have indicated timing for delivery here in Canada?

Well i will be disapointed if they dont make a full underlug one.It just looks silly with just the barel like that but hey thats just my opinion.

Ladies and Gentlemen... my next purchase.

--------------

I'm official on a wait list for this baby, now let's analyze price!

Today I bought a 10/22 stainless for $259 + taxes, New from store. The Ruger MSRP is $299 USD.

I think it's safe to assume that the SP101 .22lr at $675 will be $600+ range. The Ruger factories better be bangin' these out by the thousands!! This is pure awesomeness!!

-------------

The lug issue... yes, full lug looks incredible and ###y, but, already these things are 30oz's with the half-lug, that's heavy enough for what it is. Function over form.

I WANT!

My only upgrade (aside from Wolff hammer/trigger springs) will be the wood grip panels... I'd like to get some nice, non-etched pieces, then she'll be done.

I spoke to Inland last week. The guy there told me they have been back ordered since last April for other Ruger handguns. The guy said he didn't expect to see any until summer of 2012. It seems to me that Ruger gets a let of credit for making some of their guns 4.2" to conform to our stupid gun laws but it all goes for naught if they don't ship regularly or promptly to Canada anyway.

I sent Ruger an email with the last thought in mind. I doubt it will do much good but if enough of us holler maybe somebody there might listen. I get the impression it isn't the distributors fault for not having product out to their retailers.

Bob just a note, Ruger or anyother American gun manufacture is not making 4.2" barreled guns for Canada, it is to conform to California Stae gun laws of no guns with no barrells 4" and under.
It is just a blessing that our laws let us import these fine gun!
The last Shot Show I attended in 2008. all US manufactures I talked to told me they really don't need the bother to sell to us here in Canada:eek:
Well the tide has turned and there economy is in the toilet and it us Foreigners who are keeping the companies afloat, What irony:p Dale Z!

You might want to take a look at Ruger's catalog. You will find a reference to Canadian gun laws relating to the production of 4.2" guns.

California does not have a 4" rule for revolvers.
