New Ruger striker-fired plastic fantastic

We will need to see what the barrel actually measures out to. Their spec of 4.125" = 104.78 mm which would make it prohib unless Ruger makes a batch with barrels a couple mm longer for the Canadian market.

It's too bad Ruger keeps grafitti artists on the payroll! Still I think this is the most attractive pistol the company has produced yet. The New Vaquaro is without doubt the most attractive revolver made anywhere - it's a shame I don't have a use for one.

Gotta admit, I do kinda like the lines. Looks a bit like a slimmed down P89 with a polymer frame. Would have to handle one, though. And the price would have to be "right"... ;)

Well I will say that it the best looking Ruger pistol I have seen so far, although it kind of reminds me of the result of romantic night between a 1911 and a SW M&P.

and someone told me that you can actually see a 45 ACP going to the target with the naked eye.

actually, you can, esp outdoors with good sunlight. Stand directly behind the shooter and focus on the target, ideally with the sun above or behind you. You can see the bullet. Sometimes with other calibers as well, but once it gets too fast, it gets hard to impossible. If you sit behind a howitzer or cannon and look in the direction and angle it's firing, you'll see the shells in the air......

Very true. This works well with a low light or no light shoot with some sort of artificial illumination such as a hand held or firearm mounted light.

There are way too many Ruger bashers on here. And seemingly an equal amount of 9mm bashers as well.:(
I've got a GLOCK 17, M&P9 and Ruger p89. I love my Ruger, it's cheap and fun to shoot and matches my other two pistols for accuracy (at least with my crappy shooting).

I bet ya it will sell like hot cakes though. People love a good cheap pistol. This one looks not bad for ergonomics, would have to hold one. One thing is for sure a good feeling cheap pistol and a first time buyer can mean good and bad things! :D You can't stop it! You can only hope to contain it!

You can, if you stand behind the shooter and the bullet is caught in the lights of an indoor range. Sometimes outdoors as well - very cool.

If the SR9 is as rugged as other Rugers, it will be a great gun.

I have seen it!!

I have seen it!!!

a few times at an indoor range when the lighting is right you can see it reflect off the copper (not S#itting you)

I still like mine though

Looks like it could be a good self defence pistol....better a Ruger 9 than no gun at all

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...lots of plastic guns out there are fugly. I personally find Glocks to be ugly...but these pistols are designed for functionality, not necessarily aesthetics, and there can be beauty in functionality.

Rugers shoot just fine.
