New Rugger 10-22 CLONE on the market

So did Ruger sell rights to the 10/22 or is this yet another stolen knock-off coming out of a third world asian country? I would pay three times what this costs for a propietary Ruger and I think that the police should confiscate counterfeit firearms the same way they take bootleg cd', video games and gucci handbags.

Just my two cents....

There is nothing stopping anyone from making their own 10/22 platform guns (not clones), I have a safe full... But they sure as heck don't cost $250... But the quality, functionality and accuracy makes it worth it, if you enjoy shooting accurately more than clearing jams.

Cops steal bootleg stuff? Since when

To avoid derailing the thread, patents expire after 17 years or 20 years, depending on when they were issued. Patents are not renewable, regardless of the number of lawyers the patent owner can afford. Although the firearms (and firearms accessories) industry is full of thieves and crooks who think nothing of stealing intellectual property, I'm guessing that any patents issued for the 10/22 have expired, based on the age of the design.

Now back to posting about the clone. If it's better than newly produced Rugers or similar brands, there is no reason not to buy one.

not to rain on your parade, but for this similar model of the 10/22 is roughly the same price new. Never mind the EE prices, they are their own kinda special.

can't say I'm impressed with it for it being the same price....$150-$175 maybe I'd bite.

And is OP did this on the range when i was there, there would be words.....not smart.

f:P:

Your post is ridiculous. If you want to pay $750 for a plastic Ruger, all the power to you. As far as "Stolen, Knock-off", I guess the RCMP should seize every Kimber, Nighthawk, Sig, Ruger, GSG 1911 because they are "stolen knock-offs" from the original 1911. We should seize all the AR15s that are not Colts or Armalites because they are stolen Knock-offs. While we're at it, seize all the Kidd, Volquartsen, Dlask, an PWS 10/22s because they are also stolen knock-offs. I mean really, why the hell do you care? There is nothing "proprietary" about a blowback operated rimfire, and if Ruger had anything proprietary and patentable, it has long since expired. These guns are not being sold Ruger firearms and are in no way stolen, counterfeit or boot leg, just another iteration of a time tested design.

This must be a very new product. Google turns up nothing for me. The armscor US website says nothing. No reviews, nothing at shotshow. The frontier website doesn't list it, etc. If the patent issue is a non-starter, they will be selling huge amounts of these at this price, IMHO. Looks like a better platform to do a build from as well.

Yes Brand New. The fellow told me I very well might be the first customer to purchase one in canada LOL.

It looks like a Ruger, costs the same as a Ruger, has the aluminum receiver like a Ruger, but it's made in the Philippines, not the USA. Exactly how does that make it desirable or a better platform?

Because its in stock and doesnt cost $300 for something with a plastic stock. If it shoots better then the ruger I had(not hard to do) I would take this non usa built one in a second.

Probably better QC than a Ruger, since they've been rushing their products out to meet panic buying.

Trebor2880: Internet myth, Ruger isn't "rushing" production.

OK hometownhero, let me ask you this; if your local dealer has a Ruger 10/22 blued/wood and the Armscor on the shelf for the same price, you'd pick the latter? I doubt that.
Regardless, I don't really care, but I'm tired of the offshore clone crap and people praising its merits. The majority of it is total junk and should be boycotted for the simple fact they're too inept to come up with their own ideas and take precious jobs and income away from North American workers. 99% of the items from those countries are cheap clones of items developed by people with ideas.
I go out of my way to purchase items made in the US and Canada. That includes avoiding manufacturers who "farm" out their manufacturing to cut labour costs but are headquartered here.

Rant over. :)
