Just finished this up for a CGNr ... thought I'd share some pics.
I know the schnable (shnauble? schnoble??) is pretty large compared to an original, but I wanted to kind of balance out the look and flow of the butt stock....
Also - not seen here, is the ends of the top & bottom tang, and the tabs are epoxy bedded to prevent any future oil leakage, the 'rails' that the receiver sits on inside the wrist are actually laminated to the inside of the wrist with the grain perpendicular to the rest of the stock.... if that doesn't prevent future cracks ... I'll eat my hat!!
A bit of a fishbelly, makes holding it real comfortable.
New brass retaining lug - the aluminum one was pretty munged (as you can tell by the screw)
The old and new - I think that is bondo on the old one....
