New Savage Rimfires for 2010!

Got my TR in .22 cal and had a chance to take it to the range today.
First impressions:
-solid rifle
-stiff bolt
-very nice stock
-nice rail mounts
-trigger set very heavy but adjustable as it's got the accutrigger

Installed a Bushnell 3200 Elite with target turrets. Excellent fit for this rifle.
After the initial cleaning and break in the rifle settled in and grouped well with Federal Gold Match ammo. Not surprisingly the rifle really liked the Lapua Club ammo. Single hole 5 shot groups at 25 yds with a very windy day.

Will now take the rifle apart, check it over and lighten the trigger.
More test results to follow.

Im jealous. The bolt will be like butter after a couple hundred rounds. At least that is what my Mark II was like when I got it. How much did it set you back if you don't mind me askin?

Unfortunately, paid full list!!
Is your Mark II barrel secured with two spring pins? Found that on this rifle there are two spring pins and one was not installed properly. In fact the one pin stuck out far enough that it dug into the stock.
Lightened up the trigger and will take it to the club later this week.
Report to follow.

Left250 said he has a .22 TR. Just curious where he got it.

X2...

I've been waiting for mine since February and was told the Canadian supplier wont have any until mid April at the earliest in which case I'll be lucky to have it by the end of the month?

Donnie, you are correct as far as I am aware, none of the Savage .22 TR's other than a few .17s at Epp's have made it to Canada.
Mine however can from the US. Long story short, I finally had the opportunity to call on a large favour that a friend in the US owed me. When I first saw the TR's over a year ago he ordered it and arrangements were made to have the rifle shipped to me. Hence my earlier comment re paying full list!

I got mine on Thursday and first impressions are pretty much the same here. Solid all round and the Stock is really nice! I'm actually quite surprised at the quality for the price. However, my trigger seems to be set very light which makes the overall feel just great. In regards to the stiff bolt though, I really only find it stiff lifting the bolt handle. Movement back and forth is fast and smooth and even lowering the handle is not that bad but lifting it is stiff!

I do not have a Scope setup for it yet but hopefully will have something within the week so that I can get it to the range a.s.a.p. Plan is to put a bunch of rounds through it and see how it preforms new and as is. I'll then clean it her up and give it a 2nd go before I strip down the bolt and smooth out and polish the internals. But I'm curious to see what a good break in will do for the bolt stiffness and how much a good polishing job would help.

Got the TR today, and just mounted a Redfield 3-9. Off to the range tomorrow. Gun looks good, and would look better with a tactical style scope, but I wanted to try out the redfield.

The Classic model for example with the thumbhole stock. A very nice looking rimfire. I seriously considered one. However they couldn't be bothered to change the crappy/cheap mag system on the rifle, or least make it a single shot. Then there was the $600 price tag.

You can get an adapter to make the MK-II a single shot .22/.17,....the price of the classic I can't help with.....:p

There is a fellow in Arizona (his photos) that makes them for $20. USD.
You can find him over at the Rimfire Central Forum.:)
I can't wait to get mine!
