New Savage Rimfires for 2010!

So all they've done is changed the stock and fluted the barrel?? The actions appear to be the same though?? The mags don't look like they've improved/changed either.....:puke:....I'm not going to get excited until I see how there priced.

If I bought rifle #3 and it was a good quality rifle, it would likely be one that I would shoot a great deal. I already have 1 BV and it's performance is less than stellar.

Kind of odd, it's working for me just fine but it has gone back to the old fomat. This morning when I looked, it had a different homepage with those pictures in info about the new models.

Might have to get a night permit for raccoons...

I like, too many varmints snooping around my chicken coop at night. A quiet .22 with ~80lumen light would be nice to have. Although, I might have something that'll do the job.

Too bad the barrels are fluted. I wonder if you can get them non fluted?

if you don't like the fluted barrel then get your hands on this years model before there gone. Also as to quality these rimfires are made in Canada.

I like the Hexical fluted barrel but it's not offered in the tactical stock. so for me I like #2 barrel/action with the stock from #3

Now I had a chance to talk to a savage Rep last week & I asked about the tactical stock on the Model 93R17 TR & Model 93R17 TTR models and from what the Rep said the stock on these models are wood painted black so if that's the case & it's true you won't get the bedded AccuStock on wood models

PS: I also noted on this forum that there was going to be big changes for Savage rimfire this year I was informed back in late Oct But I just could let the cat out of the bag. I personally like these new chages Savage has a very Hot product this year I would also think you investers should jump on some stocks. Savage sales are going to be good this year.

Painted wood!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep.... wood. On Savage's website it is listed with a tactical-style wood stock. It would be nice if it was at least black laminate wood.

At first I was very excited when I saw the stock until I saw what it was made from... A wood stock doesn't seem to justify the added price

I think I'll get a Mark 2 FV and just reinforce the synthetic stock myself. Eventually I would like to get an aftermarket stock when more companies start making them for this rifle
