New Semi Auto BREN mk II

you have to BUY the gun get Mark or somebody to bring it up rcmp have to examine it if approved you get it if NOT you lose it and your$$

I tried to bring in a semi-Bren awhile back. I got an import permit for it because it was semi-auto and I was seeking approval from the RCMP. Sadly it did not pass the test because it was a reweld of an orginal Bren receiver. They did not take it away, but let me send it back to the States for resale. The whole process took the better part of a year and only lost about $300.

It can be done and provided you import it with the best of intentions, if it does not met the standard, they will let you send it back.

Well, the sterling is out there. I'll be using mine this weekend

Going to sell it to me then? I might have to save up for awhile, how much of a deposite will I need? ;)

The three four guns that I most want and can't have:

FAL
Sterling SMG
Bren
Sten

Make legal versions of these and I will buy them :)

Well I don't have a sterling, but I have the other three:D
Only the Bren and Sten have go-fast switches.
The Vickers and Lewis only operate in the Go fast mode.;)

There are 3 guns in my stable that I will not part with...the Sterling, the LB Sniper, and the Boys Anti-tank rifle. And, by coincedence, I will be shooting all 3 at the match this weekend. :)

ya a 5 rnd drum:rolleyes: lots of fun there

considering customs wants mags WELDED the drum would be for looks ONLY

drums HAD to be fitted to each ppsh they were not mix and match stick with the stick mags they actually feed

I would have liked to shoot my vickers and my stg44 .I sold my C1 Stirling and my C2A1 and the gent was very pleased to get them .I've owned and shot many of the firearms you see in the movies (WW2)with of coarse exceptions of the ultra rare it was great now when I open the safes I just think of tha cash sitting there when I could use it somewhere else .good example when I sold the C1 and C2 i bought the familiy a big screen TV that we can all enjoy .I'm getting a little down with all the crap that keeps happening to gun owners my daughter is mad because I can't leave her my vickers when I croak unless I get it deactivated and now the Friggin Libs have it out for all semi's it just gets worse .I would if I could find one still like a an Inglis Boys but even that would have to just about be given to me I won't spend the kind of money on guns anymore .I'm in a funk and just can't seem to get out I'm setting up a display at the next Ancaster gunshow thats the only place I can still take the CA's and you know what if someone came and offered the right cash for them all (except the vickers that daughter thing) I might take it. I might also take all the enfeilds and garands ands russian crap and see what happens but I'll only have 3 tables thats not enough space .OK I'll stop feeling sorry for myself now and go hug my bren

No and NO

you CANNOT import any parts kits for firearms listed as prohibited

Now i do believe that if angle gets a bren classed as non prohib you could get "replacement" parts kits IF you owned a registered semi one...... not 100% sure on that

The us government also requires an export permit for any parts sent outside the us its not worth thier time and effort to do this plus the us export permit is very expensive for the dealers to get

At nearly $3,000 US, this is mighty pricey. Here is suggestion for a made in Canada solution. Marstar has full auto Brens for $650. Currently as I understand it, you can not take a FA and convert it to CA, as a "new" CA can not be registered. It might be easier to get the current government to agree to registering new CA's. I recognize that this will only work for persons grandfathered for CA's but I assume this is a reaonably large number of persons. I have found that most gun clubs have a few full auto members. Procedure, full auto member buys the FA, converts it, registers it as CA (if the law can be changed). Perhaps from a certain point of view, this is a good thing- a legal full auto has been changed to a legal CA.

1st never gonna allow to register any more CA's

2nd its not a "legal" FA as only FA's that were grandfathered are transferable to the 12.2 guys marstars FA guns are not grandfathered so no canadian civie can buy them (except movie guys)

the best way would be to have a company manufacture a completly new semi auto reciever

Just wanted to add my voice to support the endeavour to get a semi bren approved(and any other mg for that matter) and will definitely pick one up if a order is put together.

Nah, the best way would be to "find" a bunch of "never assembled into complete firearms" Bren receivers, a la VZ58S/CZ858.

Except that they would have to come from the origional factory, as in "never left the factory", in order to qualify as non-F/A. I believe the Inglis factory is now a pile of rubble. Even if there are origional unnissued Bren receivers out there somewhere, I doubt the documentation exists to prove it.

I have had several factory DP Bren guns. Some of them were rejects where some of the external machining was incorrect. Now there is a receiver that has never fired a round.

Marstar is already bringing in semi-only MG-34's. In fact, I fired one a few weeks ago (thanks Rod!).
Perhaps marstar could get approval for a semi Bren

I think the closest thing would be to get "never assembled" ZB-26 recceivers from CZ converted to semi only and imported. Bren kits could possibly be made to fit, and if not, a ZB would be almost as cool to own :)

problem is 99.9% of the us made semi auto brens use a rewelded FA reciever which = converted auto and thus prohibited

Im dont think marstar sold a ton of those 1919's and mg34/42's as they were pretty pricey guns, so they may not bother to waste time and money bringing in another model...
