New shipment of Chinese SKS

This batch is really excellent. I hand picked mine in person at Tenda. Only down side is that the bolt had some staining due to moisture on the inside. Make sure you wipe it down with oil!

mine was supposed to be delivered on the 23rd, but some mistake and now the 28th, fingers crossed it is a nice one... i hope it gets along with the Russians! they are cousins after all!

I received mine just now,,, haven't stripped it down but just a quick look over, ( hope to get pics later). this is an awesome looking rifle, they are new/ old stock. the stock is great with two small storage dings, the metal is great, no visible rust,,, the only thing would be 3- 3 inch scratches trailing from the 26/ triangle and is very obviously from the engraving tool being dragged back from the emblem, they are light but visible. i will strip it later but I must say, so far it is the best chinese sks I have ever seen.
Mine was from Tenda. UPS dropped the ball a bit,, were 5 days late and left it without signature but for free shipping, wadayagonnado! if you are thinking of getting one, fill yer boots!

Happens with UPS. Drop shipping seems to get popular again even if it says "signature required, above 18".

I have now handled both the plastic handguard and wood handguard SKS from this new batch.

The plastic handguard ones are in the 23 Million S/N range. These are original rifles.

The wood handguard ones are in the 14 Million S/N range. These rifles are definitely refurbished, arsenal re-numbered to match. Still shoots very nicely.

An other cool fact… my recent G4C rifles were mint “as advertised”. French tickler and all.

Both were the best examples of this latest batch I’ve handled so far. No stock repairs, the stock fitment was tight (no back and forth slack) and the triggers were actually quite good for a SKS. So yeah… I placed my bet and came out on top.

It’s all luck of the draw as with most milsurps.

and at $460, well done.

Any word on the most reliable retailer right now for getting a minty one with the plastic handguard?

I talked to a guy the other day. He told me that he ordered 8 (!), picked 2 which were really nice and sold the other 6.

I also emailed Tenda the same question you are asking and they did not reply. They replied to my first question if the Chinese ones they are selling do have the plastic guard and the answer was yes.

On sale at online at Cabela's right now for $450 if you want to roll the dice. Most at the store had the french tickler handguard. Out of about 6 that were in stock there was one which did not have it and was 1950s manufacture.
