I am new to shooting and need some advice. I've had my Ruger 22/45 MKIII (5-1/2" barrel) to the range twice now and I'm getting what I consider to be relatively tight groups that are consistently low and left of where I'm aiming.
For the vertical axis what I've been doing is trying to split the target point in half with the bottom half covered by the sight and the top half exposed so that I can see it. Is this the way to do it, or should the target point be covered by the sight?
I'm fully willing to accept that my problem is all technique if that's the case. I've had help with my grip and a little advice on stance, but not much else. I'm not sure if this will affect it, but because of the type of glasses I wear I have trouble focusing when I use both eyes. Because of this I've been shutting my left eye (I'm right handed). Do I need to adapt to the situation of using both eyes or is closing one eye generally accepted?
Any ideas or suggestions? Feel free to ask questions if you need more info.
