Does anyone have a source for new never fired hulls? All the ones I've found are in the states and are only primed hulls (can't ship primers to Canada). I'm looking for 12ga and 20ga hulls.

Unfired hulls are difficult to find in Canada. Your best bet may be to order from Ballistic Products in the US through their Canadian Distributor: bilozir.net
They do have some unprimed hulls in 12ga but they wont/can't export (does ITAR apply to shotgun hulls? I've read mixed comments on that).

I just ordered 400 Fiocchi hulls from Bilozir. Good to deal with. All the hulls are primed with Fiocchi primers though, so I have to find a way to get some from Bilozir when someone I know goes through Calgary.... (Fiocchi primer holes are bigger and NA primers are loose and fall out when used, unless the primer hole is resized). But hey do have them, and since its what I use for buck and ball loads as well as this new slug and buck load I want to try, I gotta have em!

I've heard the same thing about primer sizes with regard to Cheddite primers. I bought a box by accident before I knew this but found out they work perfectly in any hulls. Cheddite primers fit in North American hulls same as North American primers. Even after using a Cheddite primer, firing the load, I can reload with CCI primers and they fit just as tight so it's not a case of the Cheddite primers being forced in and making the hole bigger.

Maybe Fiocchi are different, I don't know, but between people I know and myself we have gone through 3000+ Cheddite primers in NA hulls without issue. Still able to seat NA primers afterwards.

Yes it does but I had Prophet River take care of my last few 1000 and it was no problem and not expensive

There is a few listings in the EE right now for once fired win aa 12ga at 7 and 7 1/2 cents each. New will be a tough find in canada

There are two different Cheddite primers in 209 a black flash hole and a red. One is larger than a win 209 and once used in a hull the rest of NA primers will be lose and fall out. The other is the later design and better and pending the production run most are fine but you may get a couple give issues but nothing like the initial ones sold in canada .

your local trap/skeet range should have some just got to sort by brand and type

Unfired ;)

ITAR doesn't apply to shotgun hulls, but it does apply to the primers, that's why the PBI ones are out. I forgot about bilozir, I'll give them an e-mail thanks.

Well my friend I wish you could have told that to US customs when they seized the last batch I bought off gun broker once fired 16ga since I sure tried but right or wrong in the end it was not worth possibly being charged .Yes I agree they were never a problem and should be fine but all that changed for some reason in the past two years at least with my experiences.
I bought them direct also from Precision reloading and Ron's for years and years and both stopped selling to me because of ITAR they said.
On the precision site and the same goes for all other sources I had

"At this time we are unable to ship Shotgun Hulls, Wads, and Shot to Canada"

All I know for the bit extra Clay charges me it is well worth it knowing I will get them. The last couple of 1000 of remington 3" and 3 1/2" plus the new 500 10ga came up with no issues.

Have you bought any state side in the past two years??? If so from whom??

the primer thing is a myth only thing different on the cheddite primers is the way they are tapered most are steped these ones are not measuring them you will see only slight difference

BPI has a tool for resizing primer pockets its something every shotshell loader should have it works well

It is no myth and for sure black and red flash holes are different tolerances . Been there.
They make three different 209 the US market cx2000 and the UK ones which are larger diameter and some made there way into canada initally for sure plus the UK ones come in many of the new primed hulls. Never seen the third the cx50
Alliant views the Cheddite as slightly hotter than the Win 209. They advise reducing loads for the Win 209 primer by 1/2 (.5) grain.

Weird, I buy brass shells from buffalo arms all the time, the last batch was 4 months ago iirc, I had no issues.

Brass shotgun shells may have a totally different classification. Not sure but they are antiques and would not be seen as modern reloading components might make a difference. Looks like Buffalo have done their homework per their site

"Due to federal regulations we cannot ship rifle and pistol brass outside of the U.S. unless they are shipped through our exporter. Shotgun brass is excluded from these regulations"
