New SKS report and tech sight question

I have been using red dots for years and have yet to have one crap out, if I ever did I would just grab another SKS with iron sights. They are so cheap everyone can afford at least two.

I bought a Bushnell TRS-25 and it malfunctioned before I could fire a shot. Bushnell Canada charges $10 for the repair under warranty and I was also stuck with shipping costs of $14. I am not a happy (Bushnell) camper.

For plinking or hunting I would use these sights but I would never rely upon one of these cheaper sights for defense purpose and agree with TRaTSeRiF that iron backup is essential.
