I'm tempted to do the same with my Chinese SKS too. So as long as I strip the outer layer's finish or stain my stock should also reveal the awesome natural wood pattern as yours I presume. A durable clear coat to finish it off.
I stand corrected, but I generally call everything that is chiense Norinco since they usually export everything, just a habit.
I don't know where John finds these things...
