New Tactical Rifle from Savage

Interesting looking rifle I would hazard a guess that the only thing special about it is the stock/mag assembly. The top portion looks like a standard boltgun. Definitely something to check out - even though I am a hard core Remington Fanboy, I have to admit that Savage doesn't usually disappoint.

I think it looks kinda cool.
Is it just me or would someone shooting the rifle in that pic have a serious eye relief problem?

Too much clicking to get to the pic.

Sure looks similar to that PDC stock, though the interface between the buttstock and the main portion of the stock looks different. Hard to see in the Savage pic though.

I like everything from the pistol grip forward. I think that AR stype butt stock is ugly and takes away from the overall look. It almost make it look like they designed the front and then remembered, "oh wait, we need a butt stock... what's in that scap bin?"

That's just my opinion though. I've been impressed with Savage so far and I hope this turns out to be another gem.

I can just imagine trying to shoot prone with that thing. Your support hand nestles in under the butt and inadvertently presses the release which collapses the stock just as the rifle fires and you've got scope eye right now.

I suppose my tastes run to the more conservative side, and that one doesn't do it for me.

I am just speechless....have a look at this Chinese JS rifle.

In 7.62x54R. Did they copy Savage design or what?

No Savage did not copy the Chinese JS but rather China copied there Rifle from US manufactured rifle from the 90's. The name escapes me but I have seen this design before.
