***NEW to Canada***MKA 1919 MATCH MAG-FED FLAT TOP SEMI-AUTO 12GA***NON-RESTRICTED

Just got mine today! Wow! Awesome shotty. I know this has been said before but this is much better than the other options floating around. I was a very brief owner of an MK10 and there is no comparison. This build is top notch. Hopefully it runs as well as it looks.

I'm curious if it will need a 100+ round break-in like the other Turkish mag fed semiauto AR lookalikes that are out there now, or if these 1919's will run straight out of the box. Fingers crossed it's the latter :)

I got mine yesterday and it looks like a very solid build. Clean finish, nice components, don't care for the rubber slip on chargung handle, but only because I'll probably lose it. lol. I'm off to the range on sunday and I'll put through some low recoil 00.

Got mine Yesterday too! Very nice! Can't wait to try it out! I'm thinking that the slip on charging handle isn't meant to be used. I think it was on there for more of a Packing spacer so the handle wasn't able to poke through the top of the box during shipping and handling.

I'm thinking of first putting some 2 3/4 slugs and 3" mag. #4 Steel through mine to break it in for the first 100 rounds or so. REMEMBER to first change out the gas ring for the high power ring that came in the choke tube box before you go pounding magnum loads and slugs through it as it comes with the low power ring installed!!!!!

A couple of first impressions:

Pros:

It Looks awesome and feels solid and well built!

It takes 2 3/4" AND 3" can be used unlike some of the other new versions out there

Internal choke tubes unlike some other versions out there

Nice ALUMINUM front and rear sights unlike other versions out there

The Mags. drop free really well unlike what I have heard about other versions out there and are steel bodied

Extra 5 and 2 round Mags. are available and cheap

The safety is ambi.

The bolt release/Hold open lever is nice and large

Cons:

The safety safety lever is plastic, small and smooth which makes it very difficult to switch. Hopefully someone will address this with an oversized, knurled aluminum upgrade

The mag. release spring is very strong and it is kinda difficult to activate with your index finger. This may change over time as it is used more and breaks in. It may be possible to take out the spring and chop off a coil or so to make it easier.

The field stripping is nice and easy, but to get the upper and lower apart, it seems like a real pain in the butt from the instructions! I like to be able to get right in there to clean out the inside of the receiver and trigger group and this won't be an easy thing to do from reading about it. It would be nice if this was addressed in the future to have the upper and lower pinned together or something simple and easy to undo.

The bolt handle is a little small for what I would like to see on it, but for the amount of times you will actually use it, it seems fine.

There are Two metal gas rings and it says that one is for full powered shot/slugs and one is for light target/skeet/trap shells. This may be a pain for some people if they switch between the two types of shells a lot and you always have to remember to check to see which ring is installed because it says that you can damage the shotgun if you shoot full power shells with the light load ring installed. Hopefully after a good break-in period, the full power ring will allow the use of most of the lighter loads so you never have to change them out, but that is yet to be determined...

Just some of my initial findings so far. I hope to get it out this weekend for some shooting!

I'll try and post some detailed pictures and findings after I have had the chance to shoot her...

Overall, I'm super happy with this shotgun and am excited to try out a red dot or an illuminated 1-4X scope for slugs to see what it will pattern like at about 75 yards.

Cheers,

Ian

Received mine this morning as well. Thanks TI!

Gun is ###y as hell. A friend of mine got one of the AlfaArms guns a couple of weeks ago. Fit and finish of the 1919 seems a lot better than the 15SA IMO. Hopefully she runs the first 100 rounds better :)

I am curious about the gas rings, tho. It has rings for "heavy load" and "light load". Manual says heavy is 2-3/4 magnum to any 3" and light is 2-3/4 field or trap loads. I'm not much of a shotgun guy (yet). What makes a "magnum" load? I have a bunch of the Federal 2-3/4" XM127 00 buck (1325fps) that will be going through this gun. Thoughts on which gas ring to use for those shells?

If I were you, I would try out the heavy ring for those. Pretty sure they mean the super cheap target loads (7-9 shot size) for shooting skeet and target loads with the light ring. Anything in a slug, buckshot or full on duck/goose hunting loads I would use the heavy ring.

^^^^ this is good advise

Got mine today (in BC). Everything was included in the single shipment with 2 extra 5 round mags, and 2 extra 2 round mags, and chokes. It all looks and feels good. Can't wait to get out and see how she shoots.

Good service! Thanks Tactical Imports.

Well good news! It runs as good as it looks!
Took it out for it's "100 round break in"
Just about everything ran 100% right away. The first 35 rounds or so with the heavy ring had a few hickups and the rest were fine. I was even able to get normal target loads to function 100% with the heavy gas ring on so I think it'll just stay on the gun for now.
Anyways, results below for anyone that's curious.

Light Gas Ring

-50 rounds #4 shot score hunting loads 100%
- 5 to 10 rounds each Score target loads bronze, silver, gold 100%
- 25 rounds Federal target loads 100%
- 10 rounds Winchester AA heavy target loads 100%
- 10 rounds Winchester low recoil low noise (900 ft/sec) too little energy to cycle, but no recoil at all. Would be great single shot for beginner.

Heavy Gas Ring

- 25 rounds Dominion arms low recoil slugs %50 (a few failure to eject, one stove pipe, a few failures to feed)
- 10 rounds Hornady Critical Defence buck shot 80% (First one stove pipe, and one failure to feed last round in last mag)
- 20 rounds Score slugs 100%
- 5 rounds Challenger slugs 100%
- 15 rounds Dominion arms buck shot 100%
- 25 rounds Score Silver target loads 100%

*All shot with Modified Choke

I've owned a few various Turkish semi-autos now and this one has functioned better then any other out of the box so far.
I'll be out trying a few 3 inch shells tomorrow afternoon, will report back again :)

Awesome!

I'm heading up to a buddies camp just after lunch today and am taking mine up with a boatload of various ammo! I'll try and do a breakdown of how things went with mine as well.

I will have a review for Monday too! Put my eotech on last night and will get it out tomorrow. I took that rubber thingy off the charging handle as well. I think I'm going to put an order into tooth and nail to get a few things including the oversized charging handle.
Going to end up putting in an order through prophet river or irunguns and get some of those 10 rd mags. The 5's seem too short.

Unless TI is able to bring these parts in...
