New to me gun! First lever action!

It must have had a serial number.
The number is on the bottom of the receiver, just behind where the barrel screws in. If it is not visible, it must have been worn/polished off. Look again for any sign of a number at that point.
It was made sometime prior to 1964. It has the same markings--Winchester Model 94-30WCF, same butt plate pattern and forend pattern, as my early 1940s rifle.

If your 94 has a carbine butt it certainly wasn't made in the 1940's. Not sure when the cutoff date was for carbine butts but it was late 1920's, early 1930's. Most 94's are stamped pretty deep as far as serial numbers go. I have seen a few with no serial number, usually stolen at some point in their history.
