I pulled this list off Snipershide:
What is the platform for the scope? For you...Tikka T3 Bolt
What cartridge are you shooting? 22-250
What is your intended use for the scope? (Examples: PRS, Benchrest, Hunting, Target, Steel, etc. or any combination thereof)
What type of conditions will you typically shoot in? (Examples: Daylight, Lowlight, Nighttime, etc. or any combination thereof)
What are the typical distances you intend to shoot? 6 - 800 yards
Are there any specific specifications you would like? (Examples: FFP/SFP, 30mm tube, 50mm objective, focus below 50 yds, low turrets, mil or moa, weight, etc.)
What is the price range you can afford? (Examples: Under $500, $500-$1000, $1000-$1500, etc.)
I will say this about the 22-250 you're shooting. The tikka has a relatively slow twist rate 1 in 14" and that twist rate is really only good for stabilizing bullets up to 55gr. Those bullets are really only good for 550 yards and then they start getting blown around. Not saying it can't be done, but it'll be tougher with the lighter bullets and slow twist rate. If you can answer a few more of the questions on this list, we can point you in the right direction a little easier.
I was running a Leupold VX-3 scope on my 22-250 for a few years and it was good for coyotes out to 400 yards where it didn't take much thought to just hold on the coyote or slightly over their back and pull the trigger. I pulled that off and now have a Vortex AMG on it and absolutely love it. I plan to push it out as far as the gun will allow here in the future ringing steel and coyotes.
