If you wind up buying a break action (o/u or single) which is what I would recommend, I strongly suggest a used Browning or Beretta (Browning being my preference). Quality break action guns stand up to the many thousands of rounds you will shoot better than autoloaders. With that being said, some folks do shoot autoloaders successfully. If you want to go that route I'd stick to either a beretta (303, 391, 400 etc) winchester sx or a remington 1100.
Whatever way you go, just make sure the gun has:
A) a parallel comb (preferably adjustable)
B) a mid bead
And most importantly it needs to fit.
