new to Walther GSP and OSP

GSPs are built like tanks, as nearly indestructible as it is possible for a target pistol to be. You are aware that the OSP (22short) is both an orphan and without a sport since the rule change in the naughties. For the GSP both 22 and 32 the only things that I’ve known to break are firing pins and the slide hold open. I used walthers for about thirty years and only broke one firing pin, other folks had likewise rare problems. The main thing to be careful of is the screws holding the slide weights on the 32 need to be regularly checked for tightness - definitely not a good thing to have one fall off during rapid fire. Parts are still available - check with Airguns Plus, Harvey is sure to be able to help.

cheers and enjoy!

mod'd and used a s&w 41 mag, milled in cut for mag lock and it worked with 5 with no backing for the short, next plan make a backstrap, used both mags ,all in black

Yes, the two stage was an improvement for me too. But various people have preferred the single stage and gone back to it.
Makingmags out of s&w m41 mags seems excessive as I’m sure there are a lot of them available new, but pricey. Check the German ‘eGun’ site there are often some on auction.

cheers

I will not spend 125 plus shipping for a .22 short mag for 5 rounds, the 41 mag is 40 plus time on the mill and bug removal for a 10 round. Got two GSP .32 mags for 50 but the short all carry a premium

Speaking of magazine, the S&W M41 can also be used mod for the Hammerli 208...
- Walther made 5rds and 8rds magazines for the 22lr GSP

As for the GPS, you might want to stick to standard velocity ammo.
