New Weatherby Cartridge!

I ate some young brumby backstraps wrapped in bacon and also in a stew. It was OK, tasted about like anything else and better than some. I'd pass on a miled out pasture ornament though. Dogs gotta eat too.

Had horse on occasion back in the day & it weren't to shabby when seasoned right. Dr. Ballard's canned dog food was horse based stuff back then as well.

Lot of trashing the Vanguard...True Weatherby or not, its a solid action that performs, and is almost on its own in this day of accu triggers and plastic shrouds...;)

I'd have no shame carrying a Sako or Sauer made Weatherby...

Has anyone read or seen anything else about this round?? Wouldnt mind doing a little bit more research on it but cant seem to find any more info

This new cartridge, and more specifically, it's loaded ammuntion - is laughable

140gr A-Frame @ 3395 fps drops 20" more @ 800 yards than the 142gr ABLR load in the 26 Nosler - even worse is the wind drift, 49" vs 28" for the 26N 142ABLR!!!. Bullet expansion with the A-Frame is unreliable below 2100 fps impact, which should be around 600 yards in the new Weatherby. On the other hand, 142gr ABLR will expand down to 1300 fps/1650 yards. And do we really expect a Swift A-Frame to provide sufficient accuracy in a Weatherby MarkV rifle to make hits at 600 yards? The 6.5-300 Wby w/ Wby ammo = LOL f:P:
