New Weatherby Cartridge!

I think what this boils down to is the fact that this cartridge is different. Its not a 30-06, or a 7mm rem mag or a 300 win mag. Its new, its different, guys are sick of 1950's calibers. Id buy one cause its different.

That's the great thing about this business, there's something for everyone.

I couldn't agree more, sometime in the near future I will go for the Weatherby regardless of the belt and/or " funny " shoulder.
Some of my all time best performing cartridges are belted, my 357 H&H, 300 H&H, 7mm Rem Mag, all of which will remain popular long after I am gone.
A friend and avid handloader who happens to be a 6.5 fan bought a 26 Nosler talks like he is unhappy with the Nosler offering so we are collectively looking for a deal on two of the new Weatherbys....

I have a 270 Wby and a 300RUM = I have absolutely no desire/need for a 6.5 Wby or Nosler 26/28.

I have a .270 Weatherby and .300 RUM too. Then there's the .257 Weatherbys, an arm-full of 7 STWs, and just make sure its completley surrounded a .264 Win as well. With no earthly need for a 6.5-300, 26 Nosler, or 6.5 STW, why would I want any of them? And yet part of me does. :confused:Good thing this hobby doesn't have to make sense.

I went 25-06 instead of 257 Wby. :)

I figured the 257 Wby was just to close in performance to the 270 Wby plus I didn't have to buy expensive brass going with the 25-06 and if I want more capabilities than a 25-06 I grab my old made in the spring of 1958 270 Wby that I just redressed with a McMillan stock, VX2 4-12X40mm LR reticle scope and Cerakoted.

Where I am spending my money is on new tech bullets/powders, stocks and finishes that give my existing rifle/cartridge combo's different levels of performance/durabilities making it absolutely redundant to go with any new cartridges/rifles and I don't have enough time to load for my existing combo's as much as I need too now.

On that train of though I have two old made in Germany Voerre Black Forest rifles that my grandfather gave me years ago they are now just sitting in the safe because the barrels just don't give the accuracy I used to get from them.

I have been wracking my brain for a few years now on what to rebarrel/rechamber them too damn it now I have to rethink everything...

Camp Cook, those very sweet and desirable Voerres deserve to be restored n their original chamberings! I am a little jealous, have any pics?
