New Win. 70 Featherweight (pics)

Man I'd hate to recieve a gun a nice as that. Immediately I would have a problem. Now I gotta shell out more cash for a beater gun because I'd never hunt with that nice a gun. Holy Moly. I thought "factory" guns weren't supposed to have nice wood anymore?? What a find.

Couldn't agree with you more. I would love to be able to order a M70 Extreme SS in 9.3X62.

P

sign me up for a featherweight in 9.3x62.... or something like 6.5x55, or a sporter weight 6.5x284, or a 264wsm if they insist on the short mags.

I am sold on the new m70, now if they would just break away from the norm, even if it is a limited run, or special model deal. I am sure there are enough 243, 308, 270, 30-06, 7mmrem, 300win and such out there at the moment that they could free up an assembly line to make a few in some different chamberings for the gun nut/reloader fanatic type person.

how about a 280rem, or a 308 norma, or how about a "canadian game harvester" special edition in 303brit?

maybe I am crazy, or just crazy about model 70s

thanks for posting, could you post a pic of the left side of the bolt shroud, opposite of the safety wing?

I'm curious if they have the little gas flange that showed up on the very latest New Haven M70's

Nice Gun

Very beautiful. Congratulation for this nice purchasing. Hope she shoot like it appear. Let me know when you decide to shoot with it, maybe we can shoot together with your new and my old M70.

Very Nice!!!

This is a very nice rifle indeed! I really love the wood and the fact that it has a 22" barrel, this is great for Ontario hunting as we encounder alot of bush aswell as some open fields, I like it better than a 24" barrel.

Looks like Winchester has put out some serious quality in these new era M70's, I think you may have twisted my arm into my next rifle splurge. Great rifle you have there, pass it on to your grandkids when your done.

Well your pictures where stunningly clear of a extreemly nice gun wood, is just plain awsome!
The high end Rem's, Sako's Weatherby's etc will have some big time competition with Winchesters new guns.
Thanks for sharing

Yep and the best of it is that this gun was less than 800$....:dancingbanana: The new 70 is definetly a great buy!!!

I have a featherweight that I bought in 2004. I love that rifle and planned to buy more of them in a variety of calibers. When they discontinued them, I ran as fast as I could to purchase what I could afford, but no stock to be found. Now I guess I'll have to start saving my pennies again.

Some pictures of the 2008 M70 .270 I picked from epps ....

Have to agree with you on that point. After hunting several years here in East Ontario bushland the 24" is just a tad too long. It seems that 22" is perfect for balance and length. Now, if I could get that FW in 6.5x55, I'd be a happy camper.

It's too bad they no longer offer new featherweights in 6.5x55. I notice they've done away with all the wssm calibers and .243 is the closest you'll find in the new FWs. Too bad, but I guess it's part of the responsible and profitable business plan.

I just looked on the winchester site, and I am pretty sure I didnt miss this before... it seems like there are twice as many models as there were a couple weeks ago.

there is an ultimate shadow, and some sort of Coyote Lite

but they are all in the same calibers as the other ones

I just saw that too Redlaker1 in fact I posted it up at the top of the forum. I'm in the market for a new .308 so when I went on there site to check out the Extreme SS I saw 4 more . I nearly sh*t me shorts! I frantically scrolled the page up and down up and down till my eyes hurt...but alas...no Stainless Featherweight...yet. I don't want to jump the gun and buy a regular Featherweight (I know there still AMAZING guns) and I don't really care about a synthetic stock as on the Extreme. I know if I just hold out they'll eventually bring in a SS Featherweight...but I don't know how long I can last LOL...

Yes I see that Winchester now offers the model 70 Featherweight and the Featherweight Deluxe. The two rifles in this thread must be Deluxe models right? If we are paying $800 CAN for the Deluxe model, any idea what the regular model will be going for??

I THINK that the new deluxe models just came out as I was on there sight in december and there was only the 4 models. I think those pics are of STANDARD woods .
