Where the heck are the can opener fanatics? I would have thought they would be dancing in the streets with the release of the new 94 Winchesters.
Crickey even I am excited about the new Takedown Timber Scout in .450Marlin.
I may have to get myself another 94.... I can see this being a very useful rifle for the backpacker/hiker/afraid of bears camper!;)
check it out... http://www.winchesterguns.com/prodinfo/catalog/detail.asp?cat_id=534&type_id=131&cat=003C

Can't Wait for the .45-70!

Is that cool or what??? :D

BR I would think one will be in the gun room this year as well 45/70 however if they are making it! I assume they are.
They don't offer the 45-70 in any 94 that I can see... or foresee.... I think the .450 is a better cartridge for this gun anyway.
First we have the new soft tip spitzers for the mag-tube levers... now this... can-openers just got a lot more fun to shoot:)

The headsize of the 45-70 prevents it's use in these rifles. However, the 450 Marlin has finally demonstrated a use. 45-70 in a Winnie. And I am dancing, I was just trying to keep it quiet so I could actully find one of the first ones!
Thanks for blabin' !

Not much good though if the rifle is in the Backpack at the time.

excuse me Mr. Bear, can you hold on a sec, I have to put together my winny and don;t worry, these new plastic tipped deer bullets.........

:D

Holy smokes. Nice to see the industry following trends and wishes out there. Winchester has nailed it: take down model, factory scout mount, factory aperature sight available in big bore ;)

I think these are going to sell like beer at a ball game. This is all the stuff you see talked about on the gun boards. Now you can get it all done at the factory. I guess Marlin is having a little nap still.

One 38-55 Hunter '94 + one Short Hunter in 30-30? Or 450 Marlin... Why did they came out with so much nice guns at one time... my wallet will surely suffer this year.:D :D :D

I was looking at them too. 6lb .450 Marlin with virtually no recoil pad. Sounds like fun, especially with a hard cast 550gr bullet. I wonder what the folks who paid over US$1000 to get a takedown 1895 Marlin from Wild West Guns think about this Winchester.

See I'm the complete oposite (minus the peep sites). I fail to see the practical use for a take-down bigbore. and a winchester? still a big ewwwww.

.....when space is an issue ie: Flying in a cessna 152 or J3 Supercub a take down definitley has its place.

.................you aren't going to admit its better than the guide gun are you?? :D

Depends :D I don;t like the marlin guide guns. not a fan of Strait grips or the short barrels. found them to be poorly ballenced too. thats why when I guide, my "guide" gun is the full barrel version (1895MR) :D

If I HAD to own a winny It would be a timber, but not a take down.
