New WK180-C

I think it is a cool gun, props to Wolverine for making it happen. I likely won't be getting one (can't afford it anyway) as it is .223 and really only can be used as a range toy or varmit gun here in sask. I don't hunt varmits and I could just buy an AR if I wanted a range toy. They spoke of one in 7.62x39, that may be more interesting.
 
I am going to sit on the fence as with others to the left and right of me and wait for real life reviews, see if they pop up on the EE and like most wait for the Gen 2
 
I think they will sell well, as they check quite a few boxes for many people, most importantly being they are AR style and inexpensive. At this price point they are an excellent option for an off range fun gun, a truck gun or varmit/predator rifle. Basically, I see them being used the same way Americans use their 5.56 chambered AR15's.

I might even get one at some point, but I'm much more excited about the 6.5 Grendel Maccabee SLR that I'll be putting together. :)

Kudos to Wolverine/Kodiak for giving the people what they want.

I see this being a great addition to the Canadian market but will prove problematic for several other manufacturers ��

Just simply cheaper to machine, common sense. If you don't shoot much, no big deal, but it will clearly wear out faster, it has to.
 
I would have been interested in the rifle if it had a bolt release.
I typically don't care much for racking the charging handle on a reload. Just personal preference.
The M17S is very similar in function to the 180b but has a bolt release and is a bullpup (if the latter floats your boat)
 
You don't rack the charging handle to reload. It locks back when the magazine is empty. You just pull back slightly and release. It is not like an AK.

This is designed very closely after a gun that is already proven. Shouldn't be hard to make a good copy run well...

Zhukov or ACR stock I think would look really good on this rifle. That, and a longer hanguard would ideal, IMO. Someone else commented on having a contour on the rear of the grip like an AR so it could accept a wider range of grips, as well as a slightly higher strong hand grip.

I love that despite the fact that it's not an AR variant, there's still a good amount of AR parts that can be used with it, providing an already vast amount of aftermarket support. And I'm sure that with all the great Canadian innovators out there, new upgrades for this rifle won't be far behind.

That being said, this is a great addition (and Canadian made) to the market! It will definitely be a problem for rifles in this price range. I'll be waiting for the x39 version myself.
