Newbi needs a gun! in .308, please help!

just got my PAL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol finally can buy a rifle now.

please give me some advises, I want:

1. sythetic stock.

2. accurate, sub MOA

3. avaliable in 308

4. avaliable in left hand

5. nice finish/build quality/craftsmanship

6. under $1200

7. under 8.5lb

8. bolt action

9. blue or stainless are all ok

any advise would be appreciated.

The 7600 fits the bills of requirements. There are nicer guns out there, but they work well. Lots of leftys use them. :)

Get a LH safety from Williams, and yer good-to-go. :D

I drive Kimber 84m in 308, it's way under 8.5 lbs, the Montana version with the synthetic stock can be had for under 1200 it will only go about 6 with a scope.
 
limited options for left hand, Id go custom. all your criteria will be met, but you'll be pushing your $$ limit

the Savage 16FLSS Left-hand would probably be your best bet for a synthetic left hand 308 from a factory

browning is better than Savage in finish, but both will shoot about the same

if you can find a left hand action for a model 700 remington for about $550, a barrel on your gun is another $500. a stock will vary from $100 to $500+, depends on what you want
 
would you consider a semiautomatic? Or bolt?

Winchester has lever actions in 308.... you like those?

specify more about what you want ... for that money you can get some pretty good stuff.

Wood or plastic? iron sights or not,,,, blued or stainless.... if you want a Remington, ask Supercub. Paul knows all the good sides of having one.. or two.... or ,,,,,:dancingbanana:

I edited my first post, I want a bolt action. stainless or blue.
