Newer rimfire cartridges - why not the other way?

So in recent years we got the 17 hmr, the 17 hm2, the 17wsm.

Why not go the other direction? A 25, or 30 caliber rimfire? Am I alone on this? I would love to see some bigger bore rimfires hit the market. I wish the 32rimfire was still around and mainstream.

No market? What am I missing?

I'm with you on the 32 rimfire...I would buy one in a heart beat, if ammo wasn't $2.00 a round!

I bought one of these kits, in 22 mag, works great!...very...slow.. at reloading , it take time for the primer powder to dry, but haven't had a FTF as of yet!
Also bought the resizing dies and primer powder kit. Nice little setup to have.
Resize your brass, prime, case your own bullets and crimper all in one.

Follow up from my previous post...

Market seems to have allowed Savage to work on delayed blowback (A17) to make a semi in .17HMR. Release of .22WMR rifles coming after.

Market can dictate production. A call for my .32long might be answered, but I would guess tooling up for production of it would actually cost as much (or more) than the cost/rd now for out-of-production show n' bench finds. (Thank you Camster for driving up such cost by pointing this out). This sort of ammo went out of production because of that very same market.

If it wasn't a "legal issue", which I think it might be( but don't really know) it wouldn't be that hard to set up to make 32 rf brass, yes it would take some time. and the making of the tooling, but do-able...in a small scale op.
Just my .02 cents..I've thought about it... a lot.. :)

I sure like my .25/20 WCF. Like to see a modern version of that.

I want the opposite. Something like a .01 rimfire. Suitable for ethical kills on spiders and wasps that get in the house, sub moa accurate within 15 feet, slow enough to not make it through a sheet of dry wall. Get a big 25X scope, but with a focal range of 15 feet...

Aguila Colibri is 22 but basically what you want
