NewFoundLand Moose hunt questions

As a non-resident, you can only hunt with a licensed guide. Even if its your brother who lives there. There is no provision for tagging along with anyone.

I suppose I will have to ask this of the provincial authorities but If I was go with my NFLD resident friend who has a tag but I do not have a firearm, would that be allowed. I just enjoy the experience, don't need to be the one pulling the trigger.

My Friend, who works for Fisheries and Lands division, checked this out as well.
Said there would be no issue for someone to tag along.

Would depend on the NFLD definition of Hunting. In Ontario, you would be hunting, even without a firearm. I would get it in writing from the proper authorities.

You could also look into a coyote license or small game license.
As long as you have a hunting license from your province, it’s as easy as going to a convenient store and buying

Its unlikely that a conservation officer would give you grief unless you were actively involved in the hunt.

2. In this Act ...
(f) "hunting" includes chasing, pursuing, worrying, following after or on the trail of, or searching for or lying in wait for wild life whether or not the wild life is then or later captured, injured or killed, and "hunt" and "hunter" have a corresponding meaning
Wild Life Act, RSNL 1990, c.W-8

The $50 non-resident small game license (coyote & small game are combined nowadays) would otherwise suffice.
