Unless you are shooting a lot of 'real' full power loads (i.e. factory magnum loads from AE, S&B, Remington are not really full power loads) a Smith will be fine, so just get the one that appeals to you and have fun shooting. I've had a few 629s and a Redhawk. Either a 5"-6.5" 629 or 5.5 Redhawk would be nice. Haven't shot the Taurus but lots of guys like them too.

. Top is a Redhawk, middle is a 629, and the bottom is a 624 in 44 special. I have shot 44 mag for years, and my arthritis is getting to the point that I can't handle the torque of full loads, so am starting to load down. But the 44 special shoots sweet.
