NFA Petition to de-restrict ARs and eliminate 5 round mags for semis

I signed it at the Surrey gun show! I came all the way from Tofino just to sign it so it better do something damn it!

My wife and I both signed and there was some hippies going door to door with some hippy one that I read over and was to get the amount of heavy metals printed on canned tuna so I told the tow of them I would sign theirs if they signed to have the AR15 classified in its functional class... for some reason that is all I had to tell them they jumped all over it and with the grins they had these guys were either useful idiots or very big gun nuts... I have met some very pro extreme left wingers around these parts of Alberta. I can be a nasty little devil either way!

You guys are all a bunch of commies now. I don't even know Alberta anymore.

Some of the recent posters need to take the time to read from the beginning. It is not 30,000 total signatures but 30 K collected buy one person. And I have to say congratulations and thank you SIR.

The attitude displayed by our gun community over subjects like this is mind boggling. Some people just have no faith or are just lazy. They may as well be a member of the Coalition For Gun Control. We many already know the answer with the outcome of this petition. The squeaky wheel gets the grease and if the government does ignore us, then we need a new government.

thats not how I read it.
I read 30000 total, not 30000 by one person.

Isn't the biggest gains so c 42 once signed into law that guns cannot be restricted by name?
This would mean AR and bushmaster and similar can be reclassified as non restricted as long as they have long enough barrels and are semi only

The NFA Facebook page said 30,000 signatures in total, not collected by a single person.

I think 30k signatures is significant in that they were only collected in a few months with no wide spread advertising about it or funding behind it. Imagine if it was allowed to run for 12 months and money was thrown at getting as many people as possible to sign it? Not to mention how many people those 30,000 represent. 5 to 1? 10 to 1?

interesting thing ....
I know of a guy who had gotten several pages of signatures ( a thickness of 1/4 to 3/8 " ) and was ready to send them in , then the nfa melted down .
basically the whole situation pissed him off so much he set fire to the papers and will have nothing to do with them anymore .
That person is a ####.

I know there's a lot of people that did not sign it because petitioning the Gov't when your a Gov't employee is illegal. Maybe that just applies to DND though, I'm not 100%.

I signed them. There are some restrictions on political activities in the public service but I don't see why signing a petition to ask the government to change a law would be a problem. Not like we were petitioning to violate charter rights or something stupid.

How is 30,000 signatures impressive? The NFA claims 70,000 members. They couldn't even get half of their membership to go along with this and parliament is supposed to be impressed with that? What a joke.

I don't know that it's anywhere in the QR&Os, NDA or anywhere else that says a DND employee can't petition the government. The exception would be petitioning for changes to anything pertaining to the DND. That definitely IS in the QR&Os.

No political Party or government pays the least bit of attention to on-line petitions. Most of 'em pay no attention to written petitions either. Nothing new about it. Petitions, letters, telegrams and smoke signals had exactly the same result in 1976/77. Zip. We got handed a useless ownership permit, useless restrictions and the end to Prohibited licences.

There are two ways to deal with people:

#1. reason
#2. force

Governments are a conglomerate of people so the same applies.

There are four levels of reason:

#1. you can supposedly vote em in or out ...... you really believe that's the truth? Stop reading now
#2. you can supposedly deal with them in court ....... you really believe that's the truth? Stop reading now
#3. you can supposedly reason with them..... sign petitions, call-write-e_mail your local MP etc? you really believe that achieves anything in the big picture?
#4. you can supposedly non-violently protest when you have had enough..... well, fact is they have been caught dead to rights using under-covers to pose as protesters to stir it up so the uniforms can thump on them. Think thats BS? Look into it, you will be surprised if you don't already know.

Reason is exhausted, you just haven't faced reality yet.

So......

Where exactly does that leave us..

Now you know EXACTLY why the PTB want to take away guns.

In best Jack Nicholson voice I can muster......... YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH.
