I must be uncool. Here they are...meet the Benelli's!

#### you. Can I come over?

Maybe not to a rifle or carbine guy who uses a shotgun only on occasion, but I agree that restricted status is too much a price to pay for 4.5" less barrel.

I shoot my shotguns as often as I shoot my carbines and pistols. The reality is that shotguns have a rather limited application despite the pedigree that they are universal. Aside from bird hunting there is nothing a shotgun does that a rifle can't do better. That being the case, no shotgun is worth more than $600.

Nothing (within reason) is more powerful at close range than a semi-auto shotty....

Personal preferences are very personal. On a technical side or practical side, this shotgun fails miserably. Over priced smooth bore blunderbuss that you can't leave the range with. Sorry, no shotgun is worth more than $600 tops. The 14" barrel even from a competitive side offers zero advantages over longer barrels. This shotgun is nothing but "look cool factor". Honestly, anything that only has LCF automatically makes the item in question and its owner, uncool.

:( I'm so sad. I already knew I wasn't cool a long time ago but now, by this logic, I find out I've overpaid for any firearm I've ever bought! None of the firearms I own help me live or do my jobs better so must not be practical or necessary. Can you imagine how much fun would we would have if every useless hobby only cost $600!

The performance of a shotgun at close range(on soft targets) is a double edged sword. Sure a load of buckshot is devastating as is a 1oz slug. The trade off comes in excessive recoil(compared to a carbine or subgun) limited magazine capacity, the potential for collateral damage(more buckshot than slug) and slower follow up shots. Of course non of this matters as very few ever plan to use their shotgun for defensive purposes. That being the case, unless you hunt or compete a shotgun is a relatively wasted investment.

I find it odd how so many immediately assume they are uncool because of another persons opinion. I never said you were uncool in fact I could care less if you are or are not cool. I suspect you came to this conclusion because you believe cool gear translates into a cool owner/user.

A firearm you use as a toy can most certainly be practical as well. You don't have to use your firearm(s) professionally to appreciate practical setups.

As for the Shotgun in question. I have yet to hear anyone validate what makes it worth the price they command.

Ever try shooting Clay's with a rifle? And I have news for you. There's a brave new world out there, and it costs more than $600...

Its certainly NOT worth the price they command, but if you want to play with it, you have got to pay. Some have the spare dollar reserves and a big enough itch. Others don't. I'm almost there, not quite big enough itch yet though. Have glock itch still

AGREED!:agree:

I hunt, shoot steel, clays, pumpkins, etc.

I have many shotguns ranging from single shots to a Benelli M1 Super 90 to a Beretta 682 Gold E Skeet.

I also own handguns, prohibited handguns, rifles.......

IT IS PARAMOUNT THAT WE ALL STICK TOGETHER NO MATTER WHAT YOUR SHOOTING SPORT OF CHOICE IS!

Billy's got a point. Us vs. Them remember. Maybe we should start a forum called "Pissing Contests". This stuff gets way too personal, whatever happened to manners? Own what you can afford and shoot what you like---if it ain't your cup of tea, don't drink it. Go banana!:dancingbanana:

Geez man, when you start talking about if its worth the money then just shut up, now your sounding like a money fudd.
This is Canada we pay too much for everything, why? becasue we like to play with cool stuff and thats the only reason we need.

Hit probability at speed, especially against small and/or moving targets, is what the shotgun is all about, and there's nothing slow about the follow up shots when you're talking a good semiautomatic.

Hey TDC,
my Fabarm o/u clay gun cost ALOT more than $600. I got my 14' Fabarm Martial used from a buddy for $500 (a killer deal as it only had a box through her). I humbley suggest that it is hands down the best bush gun going. They go for more than $600 new and the fit+ finish are obvious.

It serves it's function as a 'defender' shotgun very very well. A semi carbine would be cherry but what can I take with me in the bush for defensive purposes? Nuttin practial sadley

(Sorry I just noticed the clay shooters comment)

Making hits on a moving target is dependent on the operator not the tool being used. Scoring hits with 2 or 3 pellets from a load of buckshot is unacceptable. Even with a semi auto shotgun you're dealing with increased recoil over a semi auto rifle. As I posted, there is nothing a shotgun can do that a rifle can't do better.

Of course you're a Fudd. I am too. The lastest definition of Fudd on this site is anyone who would question the merits of paying a lot more for a shotgun that can be used in far fewer places in return for a barrel that's 4 inches shorter.

Better to be a Fudd than to be mildly deranged.

Ahhhh.... Claybuster and Win/64.... my favorite Norinco/Tactical shotgun Trolls.

The term Fudd applies too.:D

Wait for the response, wait for it, wait for it......

So you agree with TDC's last post?

When did I say that? I'm just pointing out that it is well known among those on CGN that enjoy Norinco's and Tacticool shotguns, that you and claybuster like to post and post, and post, and post, about how much you hate them.....

If going into a thread about those types of firearms and posting inflammatory comments about them is NOT trolling then I misunderstand the definition.

Do you deny it? You shouldn't, because I could find a dozen threads where you have done just that...

If you read the OP you would "know" it was about a "restricted" Benelli (I have some Cole's notes if you need them PM me :)). You buzz in on page 19 and call me a Troll... Get a life. It's funny you are the only one that mentioned norinkos in this whole thread... I have nothing against Tactical Shotguns. As long as they are not restricted and made in somewhere other than china.
