NIB Colt LE6920!!!

what about $6000+ for a G36? $4000 for a 308 M78?

it is only gouging when it is an item that is NEEDED . otherwise it is the going rate.

Can't tell you how many people have offered me LARGE money to get them PS90's, FS2000's, G36's, COBB 50's, CHEYTAC's, etc.. When something isn't available then people force the price up trying to get it. But State Department won't approve export permits for this stuff so regardless of what people are willing to pay for it we can't supply the requests.

Colt is a similar situation... deliveries from COLT are almost non-existent in the US... the few who have them know it's a sellers market. Many are advertising LE6920's but in fact are shipping the buyers AR6920's. Add to that the difficulties in getting approved export permits for Colt Rifles and this results in the situation we have in Canada today... it's been a long time since new LE6920's found their way to Canada.

It's quite frustrating... one of my suppliers has over 1,000 PS90's in inventory that they want to sell us, but we can't get export permits for them.

I know there has always been a premium for a Colt, even in the States. I don't know what their availability is like right now down there though...

Alex.

Oh, I don't know, price down south seems just a little bit better (even when you factor in the exchange rate)...

Especially if you're a cop or FFL dealer...

Can your supplier ship them to another country, then import to Canada from there ?

US State Department won't approve Export Permits and to get them out of the US you need an export permit, regardless of what country you want to ship to... not just for Canada.

According to US State Department the PS90 and the FS2000 are "Military and Police firearms" and therefore not approved for export to civilian or individual end users. They do not care that the PS commercial semi-auto version is sold in the US to civilians or that it is legal for civilian/individual ownership in the US and in Canada... State Department won't approve export of these firearms except to Military or LE Agency purchasers.

We've given up trying to convince them otherwise.

Wow Juliet Lima that is a huge difference in price !

"this is our normal price ... but for you HALF !"

coltfan: it is not because they are coming to Canada that the export is stopped, so the third country middle man won't work.

Mark what reason ( if any ) does the US state dept say when it denies the export permit ?

sorry for the tangent/hijack ... well not that sorry I did it anyway ...

Read what I wrote above... they say they are Military & Police guns and therefore not allowed to be exported to civilian end users. We have repeatedly appealed this ruling and they have repeated denied these specific guns. They don't really need a reason... and this "explanation" has been used for a wide variety of firearms that they simply don't want exported except to government purchasers (Military & Police).

Sure some might pay it cause they want it... but why would you buy a Colt for that price when you could get LMT for half the money?

colt 6920

I purchased a new colt 6920 from p&d in july 05 for 2195.00 plus taxes.I was told it entered the country via R nicoles and was the last shippment .I sold it to a board member for 2800.00 a few months back. I felt a little guilty selling it at that price. They had 10 rifles at the time ,if i would have known that they would go for 3150.00 + tax 2 years later i would have purchased them all !
They would have been a better investment than my RRSP's !!!

sorry Mark, I started my post and thought it would go right after JulietLima's and so didn't see your response in time, it sure looks like I didn't read though :(

can you argue that you are a LE supplier ?

Not really, they require an End User Certificate to issue the export permit, so you basically need the signature of a chief of Police or Military Purchaser to fill in the paperwork.

Alex.

thanks for the info m1911.

I knew that the gen public needs an international import import cert from Canada before the State Dept will give the ok for the export permit but did not know about an End user Cert .

Just curious-i know i am hijacking a little here-is the FN now available for export? There's another thread: http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=160247

Strangeday seems to think there may be a change in the works - Mark, have you heard avything about this?

It appears from what people are saying, that the BC company has FN's for sale, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are coming from the US. As of a few weeks ago State Department was still rejecting permit applications for PS90's and FS2000's (at least our applicatoins were RWA'd). Of course it's possible that someone else got a permit approved... we often get approvals on permits that others get rejections on.

It is possible that the FN's they have are coming from Europe which is not under State Department's control and does not require any permit from State Department.. The easiest way to tell (in theory) would be if the guns have the FN USA stamping (including City and State) on them. If they don't have the FN USA stamp on them then they were never imported into the US and aren't coming out of the US.

Jeez 3K?! And it's a 16' barrel and it's engraved with LE markings! Now, a NIB LE6921 I would buy, but it's still not a $3000 firearm like a Swiss Arms. LMT is MUCH better value.

Paying $3000 is retarded. I bought mine back in 2000 for $1650. That was one of the very first shipment. Then at the same gun shop I seen them climb in price to $1850 and then $2150. The insanity.:bangHead:
