Or you could just take the slide, and control parts like I did.
Hard chroming is simply chroming right over the steel, skipping the nickel step.
It is far more durable, and won't flake off or alter clearances.
The metal has to be polished perfectly though. This is the finish you wind up with. The nickel fills in small imperfections.
Cost me $80, and I did the polishing. Turned out nice!
I believe that Armco is plating or one of the other cgn sponsors cant rember wich one but I came across it one day.
