Bought it last time it was on sale at Cabelas, expecting somewhat decent glass for the price, having experience with their cameras and scopes, seemed darker in clarity inside the store than the vortex ranger. Bought it anyway as I didn't want to stretch the 100+ hoping it wouldn't be too bad outside in daylight.
Girlfriend made me take it back the next day and get the one I should have got the first time.
The clarity is night and day between the two, I'd you can spend a bit more I'd advise the ranger 1000, used it all this season and it has impressed me so far. That and a lifetime warranty to me are worth it.
I have binos and scopes from vortex, mostly entry levels, when they on sale for a good discount and I think they're decent value for money at that sale price.
